1
00:00:16,041 --> 00:00:18,232
- Wow, no one shoots me. Nobody shoots me.

2
00:00:18,233 --> 00:00:19,760
Nobody shoots me.

3
00:00:19,920 --> 00:00:21,511
There are three shooters to make sure someone shoots me.

4
00:00:21,671 --> 00:00:23,513
You made me act crazy in front of all these people.

5
00:00:23,673 --> 00:00:25,564
Disney pays a lot for this damn art

6
00:00:25,565 --> 00:00:27,065
I'm going to... fuck that.

7
00:00:27,066 --> 00:00:28,736
- In those moments, I had to ask myself

8
00:00:28,896 --> 00:00:30,319
What was going on in his head?

9
00:00:30,320 --> 00:00:32,656
Why is he really angry?

10
00:00:40,365 --> 00:00:42,080
- It was shocking for me.

11
00:00:42,081 --> 00:00:43,533
What's really going on here?

12
00:00:49,439 --> 00:00:53,460
-We need to ask ourselves the question...

13
00:00:53,620 --> 00:00:57,798
It's not what happens to you...

14
00:00:57,958 --> 00:00:59,874
But what happened to you?

15
00:01:06,925 --> 00:01:09,700
- Sean and I grew up together as kids.

16
00:01:09,701 --> 00:01:11,460
I know Sean.

17
00:01:11,461 --> 00:01:14,112
And he has made many mistakes.

18
00:01:14,113 --> 00:01:16,408
- Fuck that. I'm going to give them what they paid for.

19
00:01:16,568 --> 00:01:19,710
- I used to work with Sean Combs.

20
00:01:19,711 --> 00:01:23,881
And I don't want to be here to talk about another man.

21
00:01:23,882 --> 00:01:27,828
Unless your business intersects with mine.

22
00:01:27,988 --> 00:01:30,580
[with a broken voice] If you only knew

23
00:01:30,740 --> 00:01:33,941
The shit I've been through.

24
00:01:33,942 --> 00:01:36,861
There was a reward offered to silence me.

25
00:01:36,862 --> 00:01:38,413
-I'm back, darling.

26
00:01:38,574 --> 00:01:41,440
- It's much worse than the public knows.

27
00:01:41,441 --> 00:01:43,067
- [crying] It's been 20 years.

28
00:01:43,068 --> 00:01:45,187
I haven't said anything for a long time.

29
00:01:47,015 --> 00:01:49,316
- Mr. Combs! [applause]

30
00:01:49,476 --> 00:01:52,602
-I went from Harlem to Hollywood.

31
00:01:52,762 --> 00:01:54,469
[indistinct chatter]

32
00:01:54,470 --> 00:01:58,283
Diddy finally has the key to the city!

33
00:01:58,443 --> 00:02:01,570
[applause]

34
00:02:01,730 --> 00:02:03,587
I'll show you how we had fun.

35
00:02:03,588 --> 00:02:05,207
and also stay out of jail... - Wow.

36
00:02:05,367 --> 00:02:06,199
- And make money.

37
00:03:01,998 --> 00:03:05,050
- Show me what's around here.

38
00:03:05,210 --> 00:03:07,352
We will walk with you.

39
00:03:09,489 --> 00:03:12,498
- So, yes, then...

40
00:03:12,499 --> 00:03:15,150
Approximately 1,100 square feet. - Uh-huh.

41
00:03:15,151 --> 00:03:16,737
- Small, but quite spacious.

42
00:03:16,897 --> 00:03:18,655
It works for me.

43
00:03:18,815 --> 00:03:22,108
But I've been here since about 2019.

44
00:03:22,269 --> 00:03:24,611
We are somewhere in the forest, very remote,

45
00:03:24,771 --> 00:03:27,364
I guess that's what they call "off the grid" these days.

46
00:03:27,524 --> 00:03:29,115
- So this is pretty similar.

47
00:03:29,276 --> 00:03:31,293
What was it like for you growing up?

48
00:03:31,453 --> 00:03:32,544
- Right now? - Yes.

49
00:03:32,704 --> 00:03:34,371
- No, no, this is a little different.

50
00:03:34,531 --> 00:03:36,096
But I grew up in a strange way.

51
00:03:36,097 --> 00:03:37,672
I grew up in the ghetto,

52
00:03:37,673 --> 00:03:39,876
and then I moved to the suburbs, where Sean lived.

53
00:03:42,839 --> 00:03:44,965
My reason for having them here

54
00:03:45,125 --> 00:03:49,184
It's because I really believe that what's happening right now

55
00:03:49,185 --> 00:03:51,862
is bigger than you

56
00:03:51,863 --> 00:03:53,688
He's bigger than me. It's bigger than the media.

57
00:03:53,689 --> 00:03:55,190
It is bigger than this world.

58
00:03:55,191 --> 00:03:58,118
I only know that where I am now,

59
00:03:58,119 --> 00:03:59,980
Among all the noise...

60
00:04:00,140 --> 00:04:01,615
- We start with the breaking news.

61
00:04:01,775 --> 00:04:03,624
- Mr. Combs has been accused of sexual assault.

62
00:04:03,625 --> 00:04:05,301
- Among all the headlines...

63
00:04:05,302 --> 00:04:07,686
- Rap star Sean "Puffy" Combs was released on bail this morning.

64
00:04:07,687 --> 00:04:09,430
- There is a federal investigation

65
00:04:09,431 --> 00:04:10,582
in sex trafficking.

66
00:04:10,742 --> 00:04:12,683
-Among so much chaos...

67
00:04:12,684 --> 00:04:14,411
- Abuse, harassment, forced drug addiction.

68
00:04:14,505 --> 00:04:15,912
- Physically attacking...

69
00:04:16,072 --> 00:04:18,338
- Several homes raided by the federal police.

70
00:04:18,339 --> 00:04:20,816
-He is public enemy number one right now.

71
00:04:23,405 --> 00:04:26,723
And many things that are attributed to Sean now...

72
00:04:29,336 --> 00:04:31,353
I can't approve of any of the things.

73
00:04:31,513 --> 00:04:32,861
that I have heard or seen.

74
00:04:35,517 --> 00:04:37,934
Now he is "monstered."

75
00:04:38,094 --> 00:04:40,235
But monsters are created.

76
00:04:40,236 --> 00:04:42,220
Know? That's my little brother.

77
00:04:42,221 --> 00:04:46,667
Know? I know Sean, not Diddy, not Daddy Love.

78
00:04:46,668 --> 00:04:48,903
I don't know those people. I don't know them.

79
00:04:49,064 --> 00:04:52,198
I swear I don't know them. I've never met those people.

80
00:04:52,359 --> 00:04:55,175
I have to tell people what they don't know.

81
00:04:55,176 --> 00:04:56,986
About his childhood.

82
00:04:59,806 --> 00:05:01,958
The creation of Sean Combs...

83
00:05:02,118 --> 00:05:05,137
Sean is the son

84
00:05:05,297 --> 00:05:09,308
of two "fashionable" people from Harlem.

85
00:05:10,927 --> 00:05:12,868
Janice is Sean's mom.

86
00:05:12,869 --> 00:05:16,664
Speaking of Janice, here's Janice.

87
00:05:16,665 --> 00:05:19,559
And Melvin is Sean's dad.

88
00:05:19,719 --> 00:05:22,654
And Sean grew up in Mount Vernon.

89
00:05:22,814 --> 00:05:24,931
They built a house there.

90
00:05:25,092 --> 00:05:27,207
Now, here's the context of it all.

91
00:05:27,208 --> 00:05:29,911
Mount Vernon is a 4 square mile city,

92
00:05:30,072 --> 00:05:32,822
Maybe 25, 30 minutes

93
00:05:32,916 --> 00:05:36,049
From Manhattan, New York proper.

94
00:05:36,050 --> 00:05:39,970
And the north side is where you would love to live.

95
00:05:39,971 --> 00:05:41,882
Because it is the residential side.

96
00:05:42,042 --> 00:05:43,949
It's grass. They are birds.

97
00:05:43,950 --> 00:05:45,860
It's everything the south side is not.

98
00:05:45,861 --> 00:05:48,180
The south side, that's your ghetto.

99
00:05:48,340 --> 00:05:51,157
That's where I was born and raised.

100
00:05:51,158 --> 00:05:53,284
until approximately five years old.

101
00:05:53,285 --> 00:05:55,736
This is a city you come to

102
00:05:55,737 --> 00:05:57,939
To get away from the fashionable city,

103
00:05:58,100 --> 00:06:01,716
to somehow integrate into some kind of normality.

104
00:06:01,717 --> 00:06:04,446
Melvin... I never met him, I never met him.

105
00:06:04,606 --> 00:06:06,246
He passed away before I met Sean.

106
00:06:06,247 --> 00:06:10,000
Why he wasn't there was a mystery to both of them.

107
00:06:10,001 --> 00:06:14,105
So Sean had to learn about his father.

108
00:06:14,266 --> 00:06:18,377
Through other guys who came up during that time.

109
00:06:20,321 --> 00:06:24,916
- Sean Combs' father was supposedly...

110
00:06:25,076 --> 00:06:28,095
A gangster, a hustler and a gambler.

111
00:06:28,255 --> 00:06:29,820
On the streets of New York.

112
00:06:29,821 --> 00:06:32,806
-Melvin was part of a group of boys.

113
00:06:32,807 --> 00:06:37,720
which was directed by Nicky Barnes...

114
00:06:37,815 --> 00:06:40,831
The big boss of Harlem, if you want to call him that.

115
00:06:40,832 --> 00:06:45,118
-His father sold him to an undercover police officer.

116
00:06:47,174 --> 00:06:50,200
This was a New York City police officer.

117
00:06:50,360 --> 00:06:52,994
And he gave information to the police officer.

118
00:06:54,906 --> 00:06:58,799
His father was murdered because he betrayed them.

119
00:07:02,414 --> 00:07:05,507
-I don't know how he died.

120
00:07:05,667 --> 00:07:07,057
I don't know.

121
00:07:07,058 --> 00:07:08,883
I just know that Janet woke up one day,

122
00:07:08,884 --> 00:07:10,986
and he wasn't there, and Sean was.

123
00:07:13,114 --> 00:07:15,816
They left Janice a lot of money.

124
00:07:15,817 --> 00:07:19,069
There was a new house and Janet had to make a change.

125
00:07:19,070 --> 00:07:21,896
And his desire was to occupy that house.

126
00:07:21,897 --> 00:07:24,943
with someone who had a child close to his son's age.

127
00:07:26,997 --> 00:07:28,104
-My mom knew Janet,

128
00:07:28,264 --> 00:07:31,415
And somehow, some way, they connected,

129
00:07:31,416 --> 00:07:35,287
And they offered us the lower floor of their new house.

130
00:07:35,447 --> 00:07:36,955
that she and Melvin had built.

131
00:07:38,992 --> 00:07:43,418
And now we had the opportunity to move towards the north side.

132
00:07:43,419 --> 00:07:45,547
So when we get to this house,

133
00:07:45,707 --> 00:07:47,048
I saw a whole new world,

134
00:07:47,209 --> 00:07:49,341
and all I did was look at these two people,

135
00:07:49,342 --> 00:07:52,253
Cause what I saw, I saw black people like me,

136
00:07:52,413 --> 00:07:54,806
but they had a different color, black.

137
00:07:54,966 --> 00:07:57,783
It was golden. It was brilliant. It was healthy.

138
00:07:57,784 --> 00:08:01,480
They had very nice clothes and jewelry.

139
00:08:03,049 --> 00:08:06,441
So we got home and got out of the car.

140
00:08:06,442 --> 00:08:09,870
Janice says, well, wait a minute, let me go get Sean.

141
00:08:09,871 --> 00:08:11,773
And she goes up the stairs.

142
00:08:11,933 --> 00:08:14,717
She returns with this little boy.

143
00:08:14,718 --> 00:08:17,878
And I look at him like, oh my God,

144
00:08:17,879 --> 00:08:19,906
This guy is different.

145
00:08:23,059 --> 00:08:25,460
He is the one wearing the hat.

146
00:08:25,461 --> 00:08:27,839
And you can see she's wearing jewelry.

147
00:08:27,999 --> 00:08:30,965
He wears rings. He wears bracelets.

148
00:08:30,966 --> 00:08:34,930
It's about a 4-year-old girl in a 30-year-old woman's closet.

149
00:08:37,008 --> 00:08:41,401
-My first interaction with Sean Combs--

150
00:08:41,402 --> 00:08:43,522
He wasn't Puffy yet...

151
00:08:45,300 --> 00:08:48,334
We were playing baseball at Brush Park.

152
00:08:48,335 --> 00:08:50,362
in Mount Vernon, New York.

153
00:08:50,522 --> 00:08:52,763
I was in Little League and had braces.

154
00:08:52,924 --> 00:08:54,265
And he is a shy boy.

155
00:08:54,426 --> 00:08:56,091
You know, he wasn't very loud or boisterous.

156
00:08:56,092 --> 00:08:58,919
I don't know if it was good, good.

157
00:08:58,920 --> 00:09:00,846
As far as I would say he was good at baseball.

158
00:09:00,847 --> 00:09:02,172
He was on the team.

159
00:09:02,173 --> 00:09:03,750
Even with football, it was like,

160
00:09:03,910 --> 00:09:05,434
He played soccer at Mount Saint Michael.

161
00:09:05,435 --> 00:09:07,003
I'm not going to say it was good.

162
00:09:07,163 --> 00:09:10,255
I heard he was on the team. [laughs]

163
00:09:10,256 --> 00:09:12,133
- That's how I met Puff.

164
00:09:12,294 --> 00:09:14,678
When he came to the party at a cousin's house.

165
00:09:16,390 --> 00:09:19,439
He was part of a trendy dance group.

166
00:09:19,440 --> 00:09:21,167
called 7-Up Crew.

167
00:09:21,328 --> 00:09:24,896
And those guys were all over New York City,

168
00:09:25,056 --> 00:09:28,624
Fight people in dance, fashion.

169
00:09:28,625 --> 00:09:31,377
He was also one of the first children I met.

170
00:09:31,378 --> 00:09:33,554
that I had like a Gucci watch.

171
00:09:33,715 --> 00:09:36,281
-He always had the best of everything.

172
00:09:36,282 --> 00:09:38,159
For example, Sean didn't go to school with us.

173
00:09:38,320 --> 00:09:40,811
Sean went to Catholic school, private school.

174
00:09:40,972 --> 00:09:43,889
- Private school.

175
00:09:43,890 --> 00:09:45,999
They always say that... oh, yes, he's doing well.

176
00:09:46,000 --> 00:09:47,417
I got it at a private school.

177
00:09:47,418 --> 00:09:48,745
-This boy is rich.

178
00:09:48,905 --> 00:09:50,997
They considered him the rich kid.

179
00:09:51,157 --> 00:09:53,174
Sean was the different kid.

180
00:09:53,335 --> 00:09:57,178
Sean was the kid that people could smell and who wasn't tough.

181
00:09:59,182 --> 00:10:02,157
Sean was always bullied.

182
00:10:02,158 --> 00:10:03,968
You know, getting hit in the head,

183
00:10:04,062 --> 00:10:06,036
On the side of your head one more time

184
00:10:06,037 --> 00:10:08,607
or being called a bitch too many times.

185
00:10:10,193 --> 00:10:12,518
There was one boy in particular. His name was Jonathan.

186
00:10:12,679 --> 00:10:15,447
He was about 6 feet tall at age 12.

187
00:10:15,607 --> 00:10:17,322
A very big and strong guy.

188
00:10:17,323 --> 00:10:21,202
And for some reason, Jonathan was picking on him.

189
00:10:21,363 --> 00:10:24,030
And he would mess with him, hit him and make him cry.

190
00:10:24,190 --> 00:10:28,684
and take his bike and do bad things...

191
00:10:28,685 --> 00:10:32,464
to the point where I couldn't see that happening.

192
00:10:32,624 --> 00:10:34,440
I had to intervene,

193
00:10:34,441 --> 00:10:38,518
Because my interaction with Sean was protective.

194
00:10:38,519 --> 00:10:42,048
He was a bigger brother.

195
00:10:42,208 --> 00:10:45,477
When something is done to them, you step forward.

196
00:10:45,637 --> 00:10:47,812
But after I graduated from high school

197
00:10:47,972 --> 00:10:50,065
And I joined the army,

198
00:10:50,225 --> 00:10:53,818
Sean didn't have me around anymore.

199
00:10:55,480 --> 00:10:58,073
- A lot of research has been done.

200
00:10:58,233 --> 00:11:01,984
about a body of work that we actually reference very frequently.

201
00:11:02,079 --> 00:11:05,071
It's called Adverse Childhood Experiences.

202
00:11:05,231 --> 00:11:07,672
or ACE.

203
00:11:07,673 --> 00:11:10,001
It can be anything from witnessing

204
00:11:10,161 --> 00:11:13,004
Domestic violence, physical abuse.

205
00:11:13,164 --> 00:11:15,331
It could be having an absent father.

206
00:11:18,044 --> 00:11:22,237
Here is a man who lost his father early in life.

207
00:11:22,238 --> 00:11:26,492
in very violent and tragic circumstances.

208
00:11:28,930 --> 00:11:30,772
If you have lost a parent,

209
00:11:30,932 --> 00:11:32,498
There is a desire

210
00:11:32,499 --> 00:11:35,400
belong to something bigger than yourself,

211
00:11:35,401 --> 00:11:37,577
so as not to be isolated,

212
00:11:37,578 --> 00:11:41,107
belong to a group, fit in.

213
00:11:41,267 --> 00:11:44,160
- This is one of the photos

214
00:11:44,320 --> 00:11:48,663
before Puff joined the same gang.

215
00:11:48,664 --> 00:11:51,591
I started Same Gang in '89.

216
00:11:51,592 --> 00:11:54,594
We were men who got together and went to parties.

217
00:11:54,595 --> 00:11:56,122
You know, we hang out in clubs.

218
00:11:56,282 --> 00:11:59,724
There were some kids who tried really hard.

219
00:11:59,725 --> 00:12:01,643
Puff... man, he wants to be with us.

220
00:12:01,644 --> 00:12:03,445
He wants to be with us.

221
00:12:03,446 --> 00:12:06,132
A lot of kids didn't want him to be part of the same gang.

222
00:12:06,292 --> 00:12:08,134
Because I didn't live in Harlem.

223
00:12:08,294 --> 00:12:11,286
The guys didn't really like him.

224
00:12:11,287 --> 00:12:13,565
Very well, one day we decided...

225
00:12:13,725 --> 00:12:15,466
They said: Puff, come here.

226
00:12:15,627 --> 00:12:18,394
Let's make the young people toughen it up.

227
00:12:20,746 --> 00:12:24,374
And we are going to crush his head...

228
00:12:24,375 --> 00:12:26,126
Beat him up or something like that.

229
00:12:28,314 --> 00:12:31,631
When Puff arrived, we were all out there.

230
00:12:31,632 --> 00:12:33,034
And the young people grabbed him.

231
00:12:35,711 --> 00:12:37,337
And they start trying to mistreat him.

232
00:12:37,338 --> 00:12:39,048
And he took off, running.

233
00:12:41,144 --> 00:12:43,569
They brought him back to beat him up.

234
00:12:43,570 --> 00:12:46,598
Smash things, hit him over the head with pies

235
00:12:46,758 --> 00:12:49,474
and all those other things like that.

236
00:12:49,475 --> 00:12:53,478
After that, Puff was in the same gang.

237
00:12:53,479 --> 00:12:56,107
This is the photo...

238
00:12:56,267 --> 00:12:58,610
When he joined the same gang.

239
00:12:58,770 --> 00:13:01,070
He was wearing the same gang's t-shirt.

240
00:13:05,026 --> 00:13:07,118
[Chainsaw hum]

241
00:13:09,531 --> 00:13:13,699
-When I returned home from military service...

242
00:13:13,860 --> 00:13:17,269
And Sean and I hadn't seen each other in a while,

243
00:13:17,270 --> 00:13:20,355
And, you know, I'm like, what's up, Sean?

244
00:13:20,356 --> 00:13:23,259
He says, yeah, they call me Puff now.

245
00:13:23,419 --> 00:13:24,803
They call me Puff.

246
00:13:26,814 --> 00:13:29,039
They looked at me like a punk.

247
00:13:29,200 --> 00:13:30,642
They looked at me like a weakling.

248
00:13:30,802 --> 00:13:32,517
They looked at me like a ladybug,

249
00:13:32,518 --> 00:13:34,519
like a coward, like a fool.

250
00:13:34,520 --> 00:13:37,398
I'm not even trying to get to know that person again.

251
00:13:39,210 --> 00:13:40,500
And now I'm a Puff Daddy.

252
00:13:44,566 --> 00:13:47,633
- So that insecurity, that need to fit in...

253
00:13:47,634 --> 00:13:49,259
- I had a great time. - Yeah?

254
00:13:49,260 --> 00:13:51,061
-I'm glad they invited me again.

255
00:13:51,222 --> 00:13:52,387
-The need to feel powerful.

256
00:13:52,388 --> 00:13:53,656
[paparazzi screaming]

257
00:13:53,816 --> 00:13:55,423
Some perpetrators

258
00:13:55,424 --> 00:13:57,643
They are deeply damaged individuals...

259
00:13:57,644 --> 00:14:00,395
[loud cheers]

260
00:14:00,396 --> 00:14:04,033
And I feel very helpless.

261
00:14:04,194 --> 00:14:07,178
And a way to be powerful

262
00:14:07,338 --> 00:14:10,256
You are controlling and victimizing other people.

263
00:14:10,416 --> 00:14:12,807
-How is your relationship with Jennifer going?

264
00:14:12,808 --> 00:14:17,013
- I am a civil litigator who has filed several cases.

265
00:14:17,173 --> 00:14:19,941
against Sean Combs for sexual assault

266
00:14:20,101 --> 00:14:21,693
in civil court.

267
00:14:21,853 --> 00:14:26,463
I have been sounding the alarm about Mr. Combs for years.

268
00:14:26,464 --> 00:14:29,383
He is a man who has done horrible things.

269
00:14:29,384 --> 00:14:32,203
To hundreds, perhaps thousands of people.

270
00:14:32,363 --> 00:14:34,245
-I'm wilder, I'm crazier.

271
00:14:34,246 --> 00:14:36,223
-I want to talk about this now

272
00:14:36,224 --> 00:14:38,367
Because I witnessed everything.

273
00:14:38,461 --> 00:14:40,411
- [crying] I haven't said anything for so long,

274
00:14:40,571 --> 00:14:43,188
And it's already built... it's been 20 years.

275
00:14:43,189 --> 00:14:46,215
- One...

276
00:14:46,216 --> 00:14:48,294
[crying] I don't trust anyone...

277
00:14:50,882 --> 00:14:55,099
Because I'm afraid that they will come looking for me for talking.

278
00:15:05,179 --> 00:15:06,145
- Go.

279
00:15:06,239 --> 00:15:08,022
The first girlfriend

280
00:15:08,116 --> 00:15:10,474
Sean had to meet him...

281
00:15:10,635 --> 00:15:12,625
Her name was Tracy.

282
00:15:12,626 --> 00:15:14,477
She was from Brooklyn.

283
00:15:14,478 --> 00:15:17,380
Now we were older, teenagers and all that.

284
00:15:17,381 --> 00:15:19,659
So Tracy used to come to the house.

285
00:15:19,819 --> 00:15:22,587
I'm sure he had college girls, but I wasn't around.

286
00:15:25,216 --> 00:15:27,759
[dramatic music]

287
00:15:27,919 --> 00:15:30,452
- I know some girls he's dated, you know?

288
00:15:30,613 --> 00:15:32,771
who have called him a perfect gentleman.

289
00:15:32,772 --> 00:15:35,973
But when Sean started to become more and more popular

290
00:15:35,974 --> 00:15:38,785
and I had one of the most beautiful girls on campus,

291
00:15:38,786 --> 00:15:40,605
There was a lot of jealousy.

292
00:15:42,909 --> 00:15:45,109
Perhaps his personality would not have been

293
00:15:45,269 --> 00:15:47,985
The most sensitive.

294
00:15:47,986 --> 00:15:50,839
I'm not sure what Puff could have focused on,

295
00:15:50,840 --> 00:15:54,193
But what I do know is that he had a great love for music.

296
00:15:54,353 --> 00:15:56,770
-When I went to Howard in '87,

297
00:15:56,931 --> 00:15:59,523
I was trying to get into the music industry.

298
00:15:59,684 --> 00:16:03,703
Everyone looked at me like I was crazy.

299
00:16:03,863 --> 00:16:06,605
- I met Puffy on Howard's campus for the first time.

300
00:16:06,606 --> 00:16:08,681
I was actually the first person on Howard's campus.

301
00:16:08,682 --> 00:16:10,743
have a drum machine at that time.

302
00:16:10,904 --> 00:16:12,727
And I've been in the music industry.

303
00:16:12,728 --> 00:16:15,513
Since I was probably 15 years old.

304
00:16:15,514 --> 00:16:17,616
So he wanted to be with me

305
00:16:17,617 --> 00:16:20,353
Because he knew I had connections.

306
00:16:20,513 --> 00:16:22,346
He would tell you that,

307
00:16:22,506 --> 00:16:25,874
I'm going to be the biggest record producer in the world.

308
00:16:25,875 --> 00:16:29,802
Like I already knew what I wanted at Howard University.

309
00:16:29,803 --> 00:16:32,831
-He went out with many friends from Mount Vernon.

310
00:16:32,832 --> 00:16:35,834
One of our biggest Mount Vernon celebrities,

311
00:16:35,835 --> 00:16:37,535
His name is Heavy D.

312
00:16:37,536 --> 00:16:39,739
Heavy D arrived on campus.

313
00:16:39,899 --> 00:16:43,040
- Heavy D was part of Heavy D and the Boyz.

314
00:16:43,041 --> 00:16:47,663
They were actually the first group signed to Uptown Records.

315
00:16:47,823 --> 00:16:51,282
Diddy spoke to his friend Heavy D and said:

316
00:16:51,283 --> 00:16:53,476
Can you get me an internship?

317
00:16:53,477 --> 00:16:56,472
Please get me an internship at Uptown Records.

318
00:16:59,059 --> 00:17:00,351
- Hey, can you make this happen?

319
00:17:03,239 --> 00:17:06,190
[loud cheers]

320
00:17:08,244 --> 00:17:09,742
- Uptown Records

321
00:17:09,743 --> 00:17:14,198
It was modeled after a boutique version of Motown,

322
00:17:14,358 --> 00:17:16,600
but we just had the taste of hip-hop.

323
00:17:16,761 --> 00:17:18,751
I myself had a little success,

324
00:17:18,752 --> 00:17:22,830
Be the first number one artist in Uptown

325
00:17:22,831 --> 00:17:25,534
and the first platinum artist in Uptown.

326
00:17:28,545 --> 00:17:30,814
I don't think people ever knew that.

327
00:17:30,815 --> 00:17:34,552
that Al B. Sure! financed Uptown.

328
00:17:36,473 --> 00:17:38,271
I was working with Jodeci,

329
00:17:38,272 --> 00:17:40,440
Maria J. Blige,

330
00:17:40,441 --> 00:17:42,534
Heavy D and the boys.

331
00:17:42,535 --> 00:17:45,453
We started a company like Uptown from scratch

332
00:17:45,454 --> 00:17:47,780
and turned it into a billion dollar corporation

333
00:17:47,781 --> 00:17:49,357
or somewhere nearby.

334
00:17:49,358 --> 00:17:51,659
[cell phone rings] - Hello?

335
00:17:51,660 --> 00:17:54,570
- Sean wanted to work in Uptown.

336
00:17:54,571 --> 00:17:56,664
In reality he suffered a little more.

337
00:17:56,665 --> 00:18:00,319
Just to, you know, get that internship.

338
00:18:00,479 --> 00:18:02,321
- Then Sean appeared in the strangest places...

339
00:18:02,481 --> 00:18:04,622
At Heavy D's door.

340
00:18:04,623 --> 00:18:06,826
He showed up in Uptown, he showed up at parties...

341
00:18:06,986 --> 00:18:09,311
Anything to get the attention of the big boys.

342
00:18:09,312 --> 00:18:11,879
- He was really trying to get it.

343
00:18:11,880 --> 00:18:15,483
Attention Andre Harrell, President of Uptown Records.

344
00:18:15,484 --> 00:18:16,985
From what I heard...

345
00:18:16,986 --> 00:18:19,487
Did he even sleep outside his car?

346
00:18:19,488 --> 00:18:22,741
Because I really wanted to be in this.

347
00:18:22,742 --> 00:18:25,643
- And then Sean forced his way through.

348
00:18:25,644 --> 00:18:28,321
with what you can do for Andre

349
00:18:28,322 --> 00:18:29,774
and became an intern.

350
00:18:40,661 --> 00:18:43,687
-Yes, I don't remember much.

351
00:18:43,848 --> 00:18:45,913
It's not like we hang out together every day.

352
00:18:45,914 --> 00:18:48,042
and things of that nature.

353
00:18:48,202 --> 00:18:51,295
But what you do know about Sean,

354
00:18:51,455 --> 00:18:54,698
One of Sean's best attributes was,

355
00:18:54,859 --> 00:18:57,552
Sean let everyone at camp know:

356
00:18:57,712 --> 00:18:59,628
Nobody is going to be bigger than me.

357
00:19:01,966 --> 00:19:04,708
- At first, he just limited himself to drinking coffee.

358
00:19:04,869 --> 00:19:07,011
get paper, make photocopies.

359
00:19:07,171 --> 00:19:09,788
There wasn't much money at stake yet.

360
00:19:09,789 --> 00:19:12,883
Then he started promoting parties.

361
00:19:13,044 --> 00:19:16,819
Now he is starting to make money from his parties.

362
00:19:16,820 --> 00:19:19,372
But at the same time, an event occurred.

363
00:19:22,887 --> 00:19:24,829
It was there where he was going through difficult times.

364
00:19:27,100 --> 00:19:28,532
- That tragic event...

365
00:19:28,692 --> 00:19:30,484
I think the guy wanted to commit suicide...

366
00:19:30,645 --> 00:19:33,711
[laughs] Be honest with yourself.

367
00:19:33,712 --> 00:19:35,464
- He was a party promoter.

368
00:19:37,168 --> 00:19:40,735
But at that time, I and many other people

369
00:19:40,736 --> 00:19:44,472
I didn't know who Sean Combs, "Puff Daddy," was.

370
00:19:44,473 --> 00:19:47,101
until the City College event.

371
00:19:47,261 --> 00:19:50,429
- Puff and Heavy D decided to launch

372
00:19:50,589 --> 00:19:53,757
A celebrity charity basketball game.

373
00:19:53,918 --> 00:19:57,436
And the proceeds would go to a foundation against AIDS.

374
00:19:57,596 --> 00:20:01,664
When you have Mike Tyson, LL Cool J,

375
00:20:01,665 --> 00:20:04,241
Heavy D himself, a huge celebrity,

376
00:20:04,242 --> 00:20:06,695
The urban community wanted to see that.

377
00:20:09,608 --> 00:20:11,525
Highly publicized.

378
00:20:11,686 --> 00:20:14,602
It was promoted on WBLS.

379
00:20:14,603 --> 00:20:18,606
- 98.7 Kiss-- they were playing it at full volume.

380
00:20:18,607 --> 00:20:20,534
If you didn't know about that event,

381
00:20:20,695 --> 00:20:21,860
Something was wrong with you,

382
00:20:21,861 --> 00:20:24,704
Because it was everywhere.

383
00:20:24,705 --> 00:20:27,873
-My sister, Sonya Williams--

384
00:20:27,874 --> 00:20:31,053
She met Sean through his girlfriend at the time.

385
00:20:31,147 --> 00:20:33,522
And he gave him the ticket.

386
00:20:33,683 --> 00:20:35,948
- My brother was excited about it.

387
00:20:35,949 --> 00:20:37,977
He called everyone.

388
00:20:38,137 --> 00:20:40,152
Hello, see you at City College.

389
00:20:40,153 --> 00:20:42,907
I had nothing...

390
00:20:43,067 --> 00:20:44,808
something tragic happened

391
00:20:44,969 --> 00:20:47,870
It would have been the best event ever.

392
00:20:53,586 --> 00:20:55,735
[serious music]

393
00:20:55,736 --> 00:20:58,571
- December 28, 1991--

394
00:20:58,572 --> 00:21:01,474
Wow, that was a day. [mocks]

395
00:21:01,475 --> 00:21:03,877
December 28, 1991.

396
00:21:04,038 --> 00:21:06,005
I remember, you know, my phone was ringing,

397
00:21:06,165 --> 00:21:07,640
and people want tickets.

398
00:21:07,800 --> 00:21:10,817
Do you have tickets? Can you get me tickets?

399
00:21:10,818 --> 00:21:12,061
- How is everyone this morning?

400
00:21:12,221 --> 00:21:14,987
- At 22 years old, Sean was a marketing genius.

401
00:21:14,988 --> 00:21:17,391
-They promoted it as if it were

402
00:21:17,551 --> 00:21:20,861
in a stadium with capacity for 10,000 people.

403
00:21:24,700 --> 00:21:27,401
- No, I said, WBLS promoted it.

404
00:21:27,561 --> 00:21:30,479
as if it were a place with capacity for 10,000 people.

405
00:21:30,640 --> 00:21:32,806
City College has capacity for 2,700 people.

406
00:21:34,869 --> 00:21:37,009
- Not only was it full inside,

407
00:21:37,010 --> 00:21:39,788
There were probably so many people outside.

408
00:21:39,948 --> 00:21:41,114
that he couldn't get in.

409
00:21:41,275 --> 00:21:43,742
-There was a girl.

410
00:21:43,903 --> 00:21:48,746
And she was packed into the glass door.

411
00:21:48,747 --> 00:21:50,424
And everyone told him: "Go home."

412
00:21:50,584 --> 00:21:51,750
You can go out the back.

413
00:21:51,911 --> 00:21:53,827
- The crowd started to get unruly.

414
00:21:53,828 --> 00:21:55,829
- The ticket sales team closed the door.

415
00:21:55,830 --> 00:21:58,281
- I heard it, they locked me up.

416
00:21:58,282 --> 00:21:59,859
She locked the door.

417
00:22:00,019 --> 00:22:02,660
- Now they are crushed against the door,

418
00:22:02,661 --> 00:22:05,588
like, packed, back to back.

419
00:22:05,589 --> 00:22:07,116
- When the crowd rushed past...

420
00:22:07,276 --> 00:22:09,518
-All the glass and everything shattered.

421
00:22:09,679 --> 00:22:10,844
[imitates broken glass]

422
00:22:10,845 --> 00:22:12,703
And people started running.

423
00:22:12,704 --> 00:22:14,990
- And you have people piling on top of each other.

424
00:22:15,150 --> 00:22:16,924
and another.

425
00:22:16,925 --> 00:22:18,777
And people shout: "Let me in, let me in."

426
00:22:18,938 --> 00:22:20,954
-And there were people who...

427
00:22:21,115 --> 00:22:24,682
My friends said they heard Dirk choking, like, um...

428
00:22:24,683 --> 00:22:26,993
As if they could hear it being completely covered.

429
00:22:27,155 --> 00:22:29,270
by the crowd.

430
00:22:32,802 --> 00:22:35,803
- I ran through the gym and opened a door.

431
00:22:35,897 --> 00:22:37,855
People start falling right there.

432
00:22:38,015 --> 00:22:41,273
He opens another door and people start falling through there.

433
00:22:41,274 --> 00:22:43,944
[indistinct screams]

434
00:22:45,823 --> 00:22:47,731
-I didn't see Diddy at all.

435
00:22:47,891 --> 00:22:50,109
-What I see is him...

436
00:22:50,269 --> 00:22:53,211
Puffy, running everywhere, trying to save people.

437
00:22:53,212 --> 00:22:56,038
I saw him trying to give

438
00:22:56,039 --> 00:22:58,290
Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation of people.

439
00:22:58,291 --> 00:23:02,421
- I never saw Sean Combs

440
00:23:02,581 --> 00:23:06,799
Give CPR to anyone.

441
00:23:06,800 --> 00:23:08,976
If someone tells you that,

442
00:23:08,977 --> 00:23:12,054
They are telling a blatant lie.

443
00:23:12,055 --> 00:23:14,583
- Nobody wanted to give them word of mouth,

444
00:23:14,744 --> 00:23:16,185
There are no people who do word of mouth or anything like that.

445
00:23:16,345 --> 00:23:17,937
- I can't even perform CPR

446
00:23:18,097 --> 00:23:19,855
Because everyone is trying to gather around and watch.

447
00:23:28,824 --> 00:23:29,822
- 9 young people were crushed to death,

448
00:23:29,823 --> 00:23:30,950
Another 27 people were injured trying to reach

449
00:23:31,110 --> 00:23:32,926
at a celebrity basketball game.

450
00:23:32,927 --> 00:23:35,753
- My brother was pronounced dead at 7:50.

451
00:23:35,754 --> 00:23:37,755
And he got there, I think, at 7:00.

452
00:23:37,756 --> 00:23:40,332
-My sister's name is Sonya Williams.

453
00:23:40,333 --> 00:23:43,135
That's Sonya, the big picture.

454
00:23:43,136 --> 00:23:46,715
And this is the staircase on which he died.

455
00:23:46,876 --> 00:23:50,169
- Jabaal, Dawn, Leonard, Sonya, Dirk,

456
00:23:50,329 --> 00:23:53,973
Charise, Darren, Laytesha and Yul

457
00:23:54,133 --> 00:23:55,808
From New York City.

458
00:23:58,846 --> 00:24:00,828
City College 9.

459
00:24:00,829 --> 00:24:03,015
-And I only pray for the families.

460
00:24:03,175 --> 00:24:06,134
And I pray for the children who lost their lives.

461
00:24:06,295 --> 00:24:10,138
- The news is that he and Heavy D exaggerated at an event.

462
00:24:10,299 --> 00:24:12,390
And do you know why? Because their names were there.

463
00:24:12,552 --> 00:24:14,116
-I was a promoter of the event.

464
00:24:14,117 --> 00:24:16,144
- This thing, one way or another,

465
00:24:16,305 --> 00:24:20,798
It made him the most famous guy in the world.

466
00:24:20,799 --> 00:24:22,750
- How are you? - Come on.

467
00:24:22,751 --> 00:24:24,802
- Puffy became more known.

468
00:24:24,803 --> 00:24:27,772
He almost did, in a very strange way.

469
00:24:27,773 --> 00:24:29,399
Yes.

470
00:24:29,400 --> 00:24:31,091
-I just wish that everyone

471
00:24:31,092 --> 00:24:34,013
They would just admit their mistakes,

472
00:24:34,173 --> 00:24:36,089
fulfill their responsibilities.

473
00:24:36,250 --> 00:24:37,998
- He was not criminally charged,

474
00:24:37,999 --> 00:24:40,392
But there were demands he had to deal with.

475
00:24:40,393 --> 00:24:43,246
-These families ask that a judge decide guilt.

476
00:24:43,247 --> 00:24:45,098
and award a penalty.

477
00:24:45,259 --> 00:24:47,399
- When my mother was in litigation

478
00:24:47,400 --> 00:24:48,777
with the other families,

479
00:24:48,938 --> 00:24:50,679
Then the details start to emerge.

480
00:24:50,840 --> 00:24:52,764
You promoted this event.

481
00:24:52,925 --> 00:24:55,041
You didn't hire enough security.

482
00:24:55,042 --> 00:24:57,209
You sold more tickets than you should have.

483
00:24:57,210 --> 00:25:00,013
Someone took the money and ran down the stairs.

484
00:25:00,014 --> 00:25:01,290
and closed the door.

485
00:25:04,278 --> 00:25:07,044
We were in litigation over this for six years.

486
00:25:07,045 --> 00:25:09,798
So now his music is doing well.

487
00:25:11,483 --> 00:25:13,450
Sean John is getting ready to go out.

488
00:25:13,451 --> 00:25:17,429
- This is Sean John, Sean John. I'm wearing Sean John.

489
00:25:17,430 --> 00:25:19,967
- So you're doing very well.

490
00:25:20,061 --> 00:25:23,962
He calls me at the BMG building.

491
00:25:24,123 --> 00:25:25,889
You know, it's just me and him in the office.

492
00:25:26,049 --> 00:25:27,465
and he seemed very nervous.

493
00:25:27,627 --> 00:25:31,118
He looked so nervous that his lips turned white.

494
00:25:31,119 --> 00:25:34,281
And he says: Sonny, I'm going to offer you $50,000.

495
00:25:36,576 --> 00:25:38,876
Then I remember looking around the office,

496
00:25:38,877 --> 00:25:41,154
And now I see all these plaques on the wall...

497
00:25:41,315 --> 00:25:43,306
platinum plates, gold plates.

498
00:25:43,307 --> 00:25:45,433
I said, brother, you got all this going on,

499
00:25:45,434 --> 00:25:49,136
And you offer me $50,000?

500
00:25:49,137 --> 00:25:51,164
-He says, Sonny, man, listen, man, you know,

501
00:25:51,325 --> 00:25:52,890
That's really generous.

502
00:25:52,891 --> 00:25:54,466
This is a generous donation.

503
00:25:54,467 --> 00:25:57,469
And I lost it.

504
00:25:57,470 --> 00:26:00,823
I said, Sonia is your fucking friend?

505
00:26:00,824 --> 00:26:03,752
You offer me $50,000...

506
00:26:03,913 --> 00:26:06,329
And you gave the ticket to Sonya

507
00:26:06,330 --> 00:26:08,906
Go to that event?

508
00:26:08,907 --> 00:26:11,110
That was a slap in my face.

509
00:26:11,270 --> 00:26:13,411
I don't want to talk about money.

510
00:26:13,412 --> 00:26:17,116
I want you to help me do something in his memory.

511
00:26:17,276 --> 00:26:20,694
I said, but is Sonia your friend?

512
00:26:20,854 --> 00:26:22,830
He didn't answer me.

513
00:26:24,249 --> 00:26:27,275
So I go out. I leave the room.

514
00:26:27,436 --> 00:26:29,427
So now I'm conflicted.

515
00:26:29,428 --> 00:26:31,955
Maybe you should take him, and maybe he'll work with you.

516
00:26:32,115 --> 00:26:34,958
and help you with the base.

517
00:26:35,118 --> 00:26:37,136
So I go back to the office.

518
00:26:37,296 --> 00:26:39,496
I said, listen, man, I don't want you to mention that.

519
00:26:39,657 --> 00:26:43,342
money and Sonya in the same sentence.

520
00:26:43,502 --> 00:26:45,443
I said, $50,000?

521
00:26:45,444 --> 00:26:48,046
He said, Sonny, please, man, trust me.

522
00:26:48,207 --> 00:26:50,941
It's a good donation.

523
00:26:56,031 --> 00:26:58,282
I did it reluctantly.

524
00:27:05,074 --> 00:27:07,140
- All families settled

525
00:27:07,141 --> 00:27:10,377
and they were giving a settlement amount.

526
00:27:12,005 --> 00:27:15,047
We got $40,000

527
00:27:15,048 --> 00:27:17,475
From Sean Combs directly.

528
00:27:17,476 --> 00:27:19,235
[paparazzi screaming]

529
00:27:19,236 --> 00:27:22,288
But he never acknowledged it, never...

530
00:27:22,450 --> 00:27:24,807
I never said, I apologize.

531
00:27:24,808 --> 00:27:28,244
There's a clip of him saying there was no overbooking.

532
00:27:28,245 --> 00:27:31,122
- You know, we sold tickets, but we didn't exceed sales.

533
00:27:31,123 --> 00:27:33,065
The place...wasn't sold out.

534
00:27:33,066 --> 00:27:35,343
-That is a blatant lie.

535
00:27:35,504 --> 00:27:38,454
[paparazzi screaming, people screaming]

536
00:27:38,455 --> 00:27:40,998
His image is important to him.

537
00:27:40,999 --> 00:27:44,251
The lies date back to City College.

538
00:27:44,252 --> 00:27:46,078
- Everything I do every day,

539
00:27:46,079 --> 00:27:49,208
I try to be a shining example of hard work.

540
00:27:49,368 --> 00:27:51,109
And what you get if you work hard.

541
00:27:51,270 --> 00:27:53,578
- If someone had declared him responsible,

542
00:27:53,673 --> 00:27:55,956
Maybe you've just slowed down the process.

543
00:27:56,050 --> 00:28:00,092
of all the other things that happened to other people.

544
00:28:00,093 --> 00:28:02,094
-Here with Al B. Of course!

545
00:28:02,095 --> 00:28:04,447
Mr. Al B., I'm getting a lot of letters about you, man,

546
00:28:04,448 --> 00:28:06,524
There are a lot of women out there watching.

547
00:28:06,525 --> 00:28:08,352
And do you want to see what's behind those glasses?

548
00:28:10,170 --> 00:28:12,806
- Before Sean was an intern,

549
00:28:12,966 --> 00:28:15,901
I met a woman, Kimberly.

550
00:28:16,061 --> 00:28:19,052
One day, I was backstage,

551
00:28:19,053 --> 00:28:20,254
Madison Square Garden.

552
00:28:20,255 --> 00:28:23,098
And the first time I rolled my eyes

553
00:28:23,099 --> 00:28:25,617
about Kimberly Antwinette...

554
00:28:25,618 --> 00:28:28,497
Goalkeeper...

555
00:28:28,657 --> 00:28:30,622
us with.

556
00:28:30,623 --> 00:28:32,126
[Gently] That was it.

557
00:28:32,286 --> 00:28:34,310
[normal voice] Hey, I swear.

558
00:28:34,311 --> 00:28:37,129
[laughs] I still feel like a little kid when I remember it.

559
00:28:37,130 --> 00:28:38,298
That's crazy.

560
00:28:40,319 --> 00:28:42,586
We had a son, Quincy.

561
00:28:42,746 --> 00:28:46,638
-Al was influential in getting Kim a job at Uptown,

562
00:28:46,639 --> 00:28:50,451
and Kim became the receptionist.

563
00:28:50,452 --> 00:28:53,272
- At one point I was working on K-Ci and JoJo.

564
00:28:53,432 --> 00:28:54,646
on one of the soundtracks.

565
00:28:54,647 --> 00:28:56,398
Sean came to the studio.

566
00:28:56,399 --> 00:28:58,277
I think he may have been with...

567
00:28:58,437 --> 00:29:01,328
His partner at that time, which was Misa.

568
00:29:03,843 --> 00:29:06,401
And I was in the studio with...

569
00:29:06,495 --> 00:29:08,310
Kimberly-Clark

570
00:29:08,311 --> 00:29:10,662
And we had the baby with us at the time, I think,

571
00:29:10,663 --> 00:29:13,266
and we were... I was at the mixing desk.

572
00:29:13,267 --> 00:29:16,519
He entered the study and looked away.

573
00:29:16,520 --> 00:29:20,672
and he saw this really beautiful girl.

574
00:29:20,673 --> 00:29:24,602
And she was holding this really beautiful baby.

575
00:29:24,603 --> 00:29:29,207
And he said: hey, man...

576
00:29:29,368 --> 00:29:32,102
I wish I had a girl as beautiful as that.

577
00:29:34,373 --> 00:29:38,040
I was like, hey, you do it.

578
00:29:38,041 --> 00:29:40,117
It's Mass.

579
00:29:40,118 --> 00:29:43,621
- It was love at first sight

580
00:29:43,622 --> 00:29:46,306
with Sean seeing Kim.

581
00:29:46,307 --> 00:29:48,976
It was a moment that left you speechless.

582
00:29:48,977 --> 00:29:51,186
An "oh my god" moment,

583
00:29:51,187 --> 00:29:53,631
"I have to have it" moment.

584
00:29:53,632 --> 00:29:55,659
And...

585
00:29:55,819 --> 00:29:59,186
He gets what he wants.

586
00:29:59,187 --> 00:30:01,089
All staff watched what happened.

587
00:30:01,250 --> 00:30:02,740
Sean was not ashamed of his aggression.

588
00:30:02,902 --> 00:30:06,143
towards Kim and his approach to her: there is no shame.

589
00:30:06,144 --> 00:30:09,071
That's right, this is the girl. You will be my girl.

590
00:30:09,072 --> 00:30:11,675
Maybe you don't know it yet, but...

591
00:30:11,835 --> 00:30:14,102
- Listen, there's an OG rule.

592
00:30:14,263 --> 00:30:16,980
If you, my brother, and you and your wife...

593
00:30:17,140 --> 00:30:19,114
If something happens...

594
00:30:19,115 --> 00:30:21,208
She's off limits.

595
00:30:21,209 --> 00:30:25,087
- Sean! Sean, over here! [a person shouts]

596
00:30:25,088 --> 00:30:28,724
-They dated intermittently for years...

597
00:30:28,725 --> 00:30:33,745
Always present in your mind and never off.

598
00:30:33,746 --> 00:30:37,284
Puff was sick with her.

599
00:30:37,444 --> 00:30:39,253
It doesn't matter who you dealt with

600
00:30:39,413 --> 00:30:43,206
or who he had on...

601
00:30:43,366 --> 00:30:46,484
He always ran back to Kim.

602
00:30:46,485 --> 00:30:50,964
- I have a photo of Sean and Kim Porter.

603
00:30:51,124 --> 00:30:53,240
at Paris Fashion Week,

604
00:30:53,241 --> 00:30:55,394
Kim and I on the yacht in Saint-Tropez.

605
00:30:55,554 --> 00:30:58,770
He would fly glamorously until, say, the holidays.

606
00:30:58,771 --> 00:31:02,174
Because we had to make sure Kim Porter looked perfect.

607
00:31:02,175 --> 00:31:04,444
And it had to look perfect.

608
00:31:04,605 --> 00:31:06,405
Kim was from Georgia.

609
00:31:06,565 --> 00:31:10,457
She was not that glamorous girl the world perceived.

610
00:31:10,458 --> 00:31:12,452
We made it glamorous.

611
00:31:14,323 --> 00:31:16,022
She was his companion.

612
00:31:18,410 --> 00:31:22,294
- It looks like Diddy ended up adopting Quincy.

613
00:31:22,295 --> 00:31:24,331
and raise Quincy as if he were his own son.

614
00:31:24,425 --> 00:31:26,724
- I am here as your father to...

615
00:31:26,725 --> 00:31:30,477
You know, to raise him and give him advice.

616
00:31:30,478 --> 00:31:34,132
-I have to keep in mind that...

617
00:31:34,292 --> 00:31:36,734
What was it that people were fed?

618
00:31:36,735 --> 00:31:41,339
In this propaganda against me over the years,

619
00:31:41,500 --> 00:31:43,600
About, oh, Puffy did this and adopted your son.

620
00:31:43,760 --> 00:31:45,235
and adopted this--

621
00:31:45,395 --> 00:31:48,346
There is no adoption, none.

622
00:31:48,507 --> 00:31:51,424
There's no letter to my father and all that.

623
00:31:51,425 --> 00:31:54,326
All prepared by a publicist.

624
00:31:54,327 --> 00:31:59,006
And if you haven't noticed, his name is still Brown.

625
00:31:59,007 --> 00:32:01,585
People thought he was absent and things like that.

626
00:32:01,745 --> 00:32:04,537
He was basically tutored by Kimberly.

627
00:32:07,701 --> 00:32:11,503
I was told Puffy wasn't very happy for anyone.

628
00:32:11,663 --> 00:32:13,645
who had a relationship with Kimberly.

629
00:32:16,035 --> 00:32:19,810
I was way below... listen, you promise for our son's life,

630
00:32:19,811 --> 00:32:21,638
You know, just stay out of the way.

631
00:32:21,798 --> 00:32:24,415
Don't do this. Don't get involved.

632
00:32:24,416 --> 00:32:26,443
Please tell me

633
00:32:26,603 --> 00:32:28,419
Don't do that Mount Vernon tough guy shit.

634
00:32:28,420 --> 00:32:30,162
They will kill you.

635
00:32:36,622 --> 00:32:38,613
- Kimberly said, don't do this.

636
00:32:38,773 --> 00:32:41,190
Don't get involved, they will kill you.

637
00:32:41,351 --> 00:32:45,669
As far as I remember...

638
00:32:45,670 --> 00:32:48,048
Ugh, I can't.

639
00:32:56,681 --> 00:32:59,634
Yeah, man, I can't get into that.

640
00:32:59,794 --> 00:33:01,711
There are legal proceedings underway right now,

641
00:33:01,872 --> 00:33:03,563
So this will be...

642
00:33:03,724 --> 00:33:06,540
But yes, I will share it at some point.

643
00:33:06,541 --> 00:33:11,194
But yes, this is part of the evidence.

644
00:33:11,195 --> 00:33:13,297
And...

645
00:33:13,298 --> 00:33:16,576
I'm going to have to abstain from this part of this...

646
00:33:16,737 --> 00:33:18,302
This segment.

647
00:33:20,806 --> 00:33:24,626
Let's say you have to listen to Kimberly.

648
00:33:26,696 --> 00:33:30,674
Because not only was he trying to save me...

649
00:33:30,834 --> 00:33:32,625
She was putting her own life in danger.

650
00:33:32,720 --> 00:33:34,893
-Sean!

651
00:33:34,894 --> 00:33:37,347
- Sean, right here, please. Sean, right here.

652
00:33:41,270 --> 00:33:43,503
-Once they called me on the phone

653
00:33:43,664 --> 00:33:46,347
Run to St. Luke's Hospital.

654
00:33:46,508 --> 00:33:48,758
She looked like she was bruised and stuff like that.

655
00:33:48,919 --> 00:33:51,186
But she didn't say much.

656
00:33:53,924 --> 00:33:57,666
-I have a victim whom I now represent.

657
00:33:57,667 --> 00:33:59,619
She alleges that she also saw

658
00:33:59,780 --> 00:34:01,494
acts of violence

659
00:34:01,495 --> 00:34:02,622
regarding Kim Porter.

660
00:34:04,500 --> 00:34:06,668
She was horrified.

661
00:34:08,939 --> 00:34:10,446
It was horrible.

662
00:34:10,607 --> 00:34:14,358
They threatened her so that she would not report it.

663
00:34:16,862 --> 00:34:18,620
- Every time I went somewhere with them,

664
00:34:18,621 --> 00:34:20,990
It would be like a presidential suite.

665
00:34:20,991 --> 00:34:22,801
But look, I'm outside

666
00:34:22,895 --> 00:34:25,720
because I had to watch the door at a certain time,

667
00:34:25,880 --> 00:34:27,972
Kim could leave the room.

668
00:34:28,133 --> 00:34:31,151
And, like, she'll be in a bathrobe or something.

669
00:34:31,311 --> 00:34:33,052
And you could tell that she...

670
00:34:33,213 --> 00:34:35,805
It may have been wrong... I'd say, hey, are you okay?

671
00:34:35,966 --> 00:34:38,408
He plays too much.

672
00:34:44,466 --> 00:34:47,525
-Maybe there were whispers.

673
00:34:47,686 --> 00:34:51,395
of things that were happening behind the scenes.

674
00:34:53,523 --> 00:34:54,966
- Thank you so much.

675
00:34:55,127 --> 00:34:58,336
- There was a small flicker in the coverage.

676
00:34:58,496 --> 00:35:00,245
but nothing beyond that.

677
00:35:00,246 --> 00:35:01,890
- Make some noise.

678
00:35:02,050 --> 00:35:04,309
- At that moment, Sean...

679
00:35:04,469 --> 00:35:06,485
Probably one of the hardest workers

680
00:35:06,486 --> 00:35:07,811
promising executives.

681
00:35:07,812 --> 00:35:09,813
- And I work like 20 hours a day.

682
00:35:09,814 --> 00:35:12,692
And I feel like a young black man,

683
00:35:12,853 --> 00:35:15,595
I can do everything I set my mind to.

684
00:35:15,756 --> 00:35:18,997
- Worked from intern to becoming director of AandR.

685
00:35:18,998 --> 00:35:22,801
in the space of approximately a year or year and a half.

686
00:35:22,802 --> 00:35:26,039
- That was the person from the record company.

687
00:35:26,199 --> 00:35:29,433
Who was responsible for signing new artists?

688
00:35:29,434 --> 00:35:31,084
to the record label.

689
00:35:31,085 --> 00:35:34,713
- I never knew I'd be here, but, you know, I'm grateful.

690
00:35:34,714 --> 00:35:36,723
And, you know, I'm definitely honored.

691
00:35:36,724 --> 00:35:38,593
-You had the keys to the kingdom.

692
00:35:38,753 --> 00:35:42,222
In other words, you were able to say what was fashionable.

693
00:35:42,382 --> 00:35:43,623
You could say,

694
00:35:43,784 --> 00:35:44,975
That will be the next great artist.

695
00:35:45,135 --> 00:35:48,452
And you really had that power of putting someone in the right place.

696
00:35:48,453 --> 00:35:50,129
And after that,

697
00:35:50,290 --> 00:35:53,958
He launches his own record label, Bad Boy.

698
00:35:53,959 --> 00:35:55,810
- This is it, Bad Boy Entertainment.

699
00:35:55,970 --> 00:35:58,036
- Bad Boy Entertainment, without a doubt.

700
00:35:58,037 --> 00:36:00,064
- Totally, totally familiar, totally.

701
00:36:00,225 --> 00:36:02,841
This is a new beginning for a completely new label,

702
00:36:02,842 --> 00:36:04,569
new money

703
00:36:04,729 --> 00:36:07,998
So in Uptown, Sean's gone,

704
00:36:08,158 --> 00:36:11,751
and the founder of Uptown gave me Sean's workload,

705
00:36:11,912 --> 00:36:14,127
along with the workload he already had.

706
00:36:14,128 --> 00:36:17,507
At night, I inherit his workload.

707
00:36:17,667 --> 00:36:20,133
And it is inheriting a new label.

708
00:36:20,134 --> 00:36:21,469
It's crazy.

709
00:36:21,630 --> 00:36:24,389
- Diddy looked at hip-hop in a very different way.

710
00:36:24,549 --> 00:36:26,841
People thought I had to be brave.

711
00:36:27,001 --> 00:36:29,493
and very linked to the street.

712
00:36:29,494 --> 00:36:31,271
But in Diddy's mind...

713
00:36:31,431 --> 00:36:34,323
[applause, paparazzi screaming]

714
00:36:34,324 --> 00:36:37,676

00:48:09,637 --> 00:48:12,261
- I met Puffy on Howard's campus.

892
00:48:12,262 --> 00:48:15,365
I only contacted him again years later.

893
00:48:15,366 --> 00:48:17,191
When this production team was starting

894
00:48:17,192 --> 00:48:18,818
called Los Sicarios.

895
00:48:18,819 --> 00:48:21,404
Staff were told Puff was hosting a party.

896
00:48:21,405 --> 00:48:22,380
in the Hamptons.

897
00:48:28,504 --> 00:48:30,239
- So I moved to a new neighborhood,

898
00:48:30,399 --> 00:48:31,574
And they were like, well, what is this guy doing?

899
00:48:31,734 --> 00:48:32,882
Are you moving here to East Hampton?

900
00:48:32,883 --> 00:48:34,959
And I said, "Everybody, come on."

901
00:48:34,960 --> 00:48:36,786
Come home so you can get to know me.

902
00:48:36,787 --> 00:48:38,313
Let me invite some of my friends from Harlem,

903
00:48:38,474 --> 00:48:40,666
from 145th Street.

904
00:48:40,826 --> 00:48:44,177
-I had no idea what the Hamptons were about.

905
00:48:48,909 --> 00:48:50,301
We finally got there.

906
00:48:50,461 --> 00:48:52,678
And I get to see Puffy's house for the first time.

907
00:48:52,838 --> 00:48:56,406
It has a white mansion, with white windows in the back.

908
00:48:56,407 --> 00:48:59,560
And I'm like, wow, this is for rich people, you know?

909
00:48:59,720 --> 00:49:01,187
Rich white people who had money.

910
00:49:01,347 --> 00:49:04,171
So that was different.

911
00:49:04,172 --> 00:49:06,465
- Yes, I'm just trying to enjoy life.

912
00:49:06,466 --> 00:49:08,844
This is a celebration of life.

913
00:49:09,005 --> 00:49:11,245
This is the legendary white party.

914
00:49:11,246 --> 00:49:12,756
This is the real white party.

915
00:49:12,757 --> 00:49:14,824
Let's start getting into the rhythm little by little.

916
00:49:14,825 --> 00:49:17,185
In an hour we put the children away and everything is fine.

917
00:49:17,346 --> 00:49:19,304
Alright, DJ, let's go for it. Let's do it.

918
00:49:21,742 --> 00:49:23,534
- Anyone in the music industry,

919
00:49:23,694 --> 00:49:25,211
film industry, movie executives or music executives,

920
00:49:25,371 --> 00:49:27,887
Those who lived there were also invited.

921
00:49:27,888 --> 00:49:30,589
I remember meeting Donald Trump at the party.

922
00:49:30,590 --> 00:49:31,792
[laughs] It was crazy.

923
00:49:34,261 --> 00:49:36,345
- I didn't see anything inappropriate

924
00:49:36,346 --> 00:49:38,848
When I was at those after-after parties.

925
00:49:43,539 --> 00:49:45,705
- Uh, I...

926
00:49:45,706 --> 00:49:48,484
Ugh. I'm not going to say I saw much.

927
00:49:48,644 --> 00:49:50,635
It could have been somewhere else

928
00:49:50,797 --> 00:49:53,112
of sections or rooms.

929
00:49:53,113 --> 00:49:56,641
What I saw was some grass, you know what I mean?

930
00:49:56,803 --> 00:49:58,569
- Why wouldn't it be?

931
00:49:58,729 --> 00:50:00,496
People smoking marijuana, people taking pills.

932
00:50:00,656 --> 00:50:02,406
This is a party.

933
00:50:02,500 --> 00:50:04,974
- I went to a lot of Puffy parties in the 90s.

934
00:50:04,975 --> 00:50:07,128
These were the parties that everyone wanted to go to.

935
00:50:10,316 --> 00:50:11,615
-These were the holidays

936
00:50:11,776 --> 00:50:15,011
that you needed exclusive access to enter.

937
00:50:15,171 --> 00:50:19,915
But these were not the parties people talk about now.

938
00:50:20,076 --> 00:50:22,768
The after-after party

939
00:50:22,928 --> 00:50:25,921
It was something I had heard before,

940
00:50:26,082 --> 00:50:30,575
that maybe there were orgies.

941
00:50:35,616 --> 00:50:36,782
-The after party is something...

942
00:50:36,942 --> 00:50:38,908
That's common in the music industry.

943
00:50:38,909 --> 00:50:42,187
People have after parties...

944
00:50:42,348 --> 00:50:43,289
But here's the thing.

945
00:50:43,449 --> 00:50:46,292
Everyone tends to say:

946
00:50:46,452 --> 00:50:48,342
suddenly,

947
00:50:48,343 --> 00:50:51,521
Because it's a white party, it's crazy.

948
00:50:51,522 --> 00:50:53,215
Come on, now.

949
00:51:04,470 --> 00:51:05,561
I'll be honest with you.

950
00:51:05,721 --> 00:51:07,462
I had no idea what a monster was.

951
00:51:07,623 --> 00:51:08,522
until I read the accusations.

952
00:51:15,656 --> 00:51:17,422
- People, when they think about sex trafficking,

953
00:51:17,423 --> 00:51:20,008
They think of a woman being dragged across state lines.

954
00:51:20,009 --> 00:51:23,303
for sexual purposes against their will.

955
00:51:23,304 --> 00:51:24,830
But, in fact, the TVPA,

956
00:51:24,990 --> 00:51:26,956
The Law for the Protection of Victims of Human Trafficking,

957
00:51:26,957 --> 00:51:30,435
Talk about people who are attracted...

958
00:51:30,436 --> 00:51:32,737
recruited...

959
00:51:32,899 --> 00:51:34,889
or deceived...

960
00:51:34,890 --> 00:51:38,344
in sexual conduct or attempted sexual conduct

961
00:51:38,504 --> 00:51:40,262
for commercial purposes.

962
00:51:42,650 --> 00:51:44,974
Includes people in a workplace.

963
00:51:44,975 --> 00:51:47,603
being coerced into sexual behavior

964
00:51:47,763 --> 00:51:50,231
to be able to continue receiving your salary.

965
00:53:58,986 --> 00:54:02,655
- I mean, if it's true, then, you know...

966
00:54:08,045 --> 00:54:10,246
I would be very disappointed.

967
00:54:12,299 --> 00:54:15,000
- I have always been asked: why?

968
00:54:15,160 --> 00:54:17,802
And...

969
00:54:17,803 --> 00:54:21,498
I don't know the answer to why.

970
00:54:21,592 --> 00:54:25,810
But I really think it all goes back to childhood.

971
00:54:31,577 --> 00:54:32,917
So here's the deal.

972
00:54:33,079 --> 00:54:35,419
Because Sean didn't have a father,

973
00:54:35,420 --> 00:54:38,498
All he had was his mom.

974
00:54:38,499 --> 00:54:41,150
Sean's house, our house,

975
00:54:41,151 --> 00:54:44,104
There were always things happening.

976
00:54:44,264 --> 00:54:46,831
Last weekend you were partying at home,

977
00:54:46,832 --> 00:54:48,784
And we did that a lot.

978
00:54:48,944 --> 00:54:51,611
I was surrounded by all kinds of alcohol.

979
00:54:51,772 --> 00:54:53,563
He was surrounded by marijuana smoke.

980
00:54:53,724 --> 00:54:56,792
I was surrounded by drug addicts, lesbians,

981
00:54:56,952 --> 00:54:58,669
around homosexuals.

982
00:54:58,829 --> 00:55:00,170
He was surrounded by pimps and pushers.

983
00:55:00,331 --> 00:55:02,122
Those were exactly the ones that were in our house.

984
00:55:02,282 --> 00:55:04,098
People who attended the parties

985
00:55:04,099 --> 00:55:06,100
They were from Harlem and the streets.

986
00:55:06,101 --> 00:55:07,977
- I wasn't at Janice Combs' parties,

987
00:55:07,978 --> 00:55:10,055
But I heard some things.

988
00:55:10,215 --> 00:55:12,106
She had like a small group of girls.

989
00:55:12,107 --> 00:55:13,783
That would come and, you know,

990
00:55:13,784 --> 00:55:16,786
She made sure...

991
00:55:16,787 --> 00:55:20,039
Everyone was comfortable. [laughs]

992
00:55:20,040 --> 00:55:22,399
- At night, it would be nothing.

993
00:55:22,400 --> 00:55:25,571
Entering one of the bedrooms by mistake,

994
00:55:25,731 --> 00:55:27,823
And you have a couple there with their butts naked.

995
00:55:29,827 --> 00:55:34,079
That's what we knew. That's what they fed us.

996
00:55:34,239 --> 00:55:37,056
Was he desensitizing us? I'm sure it is.

997
00:55:37,057 --> 00:55:38,834
Were we aware of it? No.

998
00:55:38,994 --> 00:55:42,037
That was just Saturday night.

999
00:55:42,197 --> 00:55:46,315
-If you grow up in a very sexualized environment,

1000
00:55:46,316 --> 00:55:48,919
That will shape your sexual template,

1001
00:55:49,079 --> 00:55:51,847
in terms of what the appropriate limits are,

1002
00:55:52,007 --> 00:55:54,633
What is acceptable.

1003
00:55:54,727 --> 00:55:57,177
[camera shutter click, indistinct chatter]

1004
00:55:57,337 --> 00:56:00,779
And when you have a lot of unresolved traumas,

1005
00:56:00,780 --> 00:56:03,657
Trauma doesn't go away

1006
00:56:03,658 --> 00:56:05,977
Just because you have all that access

1007
00:56:06,072 --> 00:56:08,921
To wealth and power

1008
00:56:08,922 --> 00:56:11,108
and without railings.

1009
00:56:11,202 --> 00:56:14,585
The trauma is there and has not yet been resolved.

1010
00:56:17,357 --> 00:56:19,724
And you have more resources

1011
00:56:19,725 --> 00:56:22,127
to do more damage with.

1012
00:56:30,262 --> 00:56:33,362
-I just would like to have some privacy.

1013
00:56:33,363 --> 00:56:36,975
Because I have become incredibly lonely.

1014
00:56:40,772 --> 00:56:43,649
[in a broken voice] I've just been isolated for six years.

1015
00:56:43,809 --> 00:56:47,861
Because I'm afraid that they will come looking for me for talking.

1016
00:57:05,180 --> 00:57:07,881
- I am a civil litigator

1017
00:57:08,041 --> 00:57:10,608
who has presented several cases

1018
00:57:10,609 --> 00:57:12,109
vs. Sean Combs

1019
00:57:12,110 --> 00:57:13,936
for sexual assault

1020
00:57:13,937 --> 00:57:15,512
in civil court.

1021
00:57:15,513 --> 00:57:18,892
I've been sounding the alarm about Mr. Combs.

1022
00:57:19,052 --> 00:57:20,943
For years.

1023
00:57:20,944 --> 00:57:22,519
- When you think about my album,

1024
00:57:22,520 --> 00:57:26,224
I want you to think about dancing or making love.

1025
00:57:26,384 --> 00:57:28,701
-My most recent client has alleged

1026
00:57:28,702 --> 00:57:31,304
who was brutally gang raped

1027
00:57:31,465 --> 00:57:35,033
by Diddy and his friends.

1028
00:57:37,163 --> 00:57:39,286
What I have in front of me right now is the complaint.

1029
00:57:39,287 --> 00:57:42,080
which I filed in federal court in California

1030
00:57:42,081 --> 00:57:43,966
in the Northern District.

1031
00:57:43,967 --> 00:57:45,419
We had several defendants listed.

1032
00:57:45,579 --> 00:57:48,121
Of course, we have Diddy, because he's the brains.

1033
00:57:48,281 --> 00:57:49,623
He is the orchestrator.

1034
00:57:49,783 --> 00:57:51,633
None of this would happen without him.

1035
00:57:51,793 --> 00:57:54,085
Then we had his right hand man.

1036
00:57:54,180 --> 00:57:56,138
This is Kristina Khorram.

1037
00:58:04,172 --> 00:58:06,190
-And then there was another individual.

1038
00:58:06,350 --> 00:58:09,443
His name was Shane Pearce.

1039
00:58:09,603 --> 00:58:13,170
We have come to discover that he is like an explorer, so to speak.

1040
00:58:13,171 --> 00:58:15,699
He scouts potential victims

1041
00:58:15,859 --> 00:58:18,351
to bring Diddy.

1042
00:58:18,512 --> 00:58:21,279
This starts in February 2018.

1043
00:58:21,439 --> 00:58:25,433
Ashley is at a bar and they start hanging out.

1044
00:58:25,434 --> 00:58:29,937
And Shane manages to talk to Diddy on the phone.

1045
00:58:29,938 --> 00:58:31,364
This is a FaceTime call.

1046
00:58:31,525 --> 00:58:34,968
Then he shows everyone Diddy on FaceTime.

1047
00:58:35,128 --> 00:58:38,821
And as you can imagine, everyone is pretty excited.

1048
00:58:41,885 --> 00:58:44,127
- Yes.

1049
00:58:44,288 --> 00:58:48,131
He contacted me and we met up a couple of times.

1050
00:58:48,292 --> 00:58:51,935
- On March 23, my client was invited by Shane Pearce

1051
00:58:52,095 --> 00:58:53,711
To your house.

1052
00:58:53,712 --> 00:58:55,697
Then she went to the house.

1053
00:58:55,857 --> 00:58:57,265
-He went to the kitchen

1054
00:58:57,426 --> 00:59:00,117
and brought me a glass of water

1055
00:59:00,118 --> 00:59:02,746
Because I was thirsty.

1056
00:59:02,906 --> 00:59:07,475
Had a couple of sips of water,

1057
00:59:07,476 --> 00:59:11,964
And I felt a little weird.

1058
00:59:13,883 --> 00:59:16,233
I was feeling...

1059
00:59:16,234 --> 00:59:19,311
wobbly, a little confused.

1060
00:59:22,000 --> 00:59:23,390
I was a little questioning

1061
00:59:23,391 --> 00:59:27,319
Why my brain wasn't as sharp as usual.

1062
00:59:30,031 --> 00:59:31,281
- Approximately ten minutes later,

1063
00:59:31,282 --> 00:59:33,024
Diddy came into the house

1064
00:59:33,025 --> 00:59:35,928
with a great "party ready" style.

1065
00:59:36,090 --> 00:59:38,506
Along with Diddy was his bodyguard,

1066
00:59:38,507 --> 00:59:42,510
a woman identified as Kristina Khorram,

1067
00:59:42,511 --> 00:59:45,789
and another person who we believe were friends

1068
00:59:45,949 --> 00:59:48,340
with Shane.

1069
00:59:48,341 --> 00:59:50,544
Shane partially undressed Ashley,

1070
00:59:50,704 --> 00:59:55,022
and then Diddy took off the rest of his clothes.

1071
00:59:55,023 --> 00:59:57,024
Diddy retrieved a bottle of liquid.

1072
00:59:57,025 --> 00:59:59,127
of a large fanny pack.

1073
00:59:59,287 --> 01:00:01,204
Ashley soon realized that the substance

1074
01:00:01,365 --> 01:00:03,265
It was oil/lube.

1075
01:00:05,311 --> 01:00:08,211
- Sean Combs had a knife

1076
01:00:08,372 --> 01:00:11,288
and I had it inside my mouth.

1077
01:00:11,289 --> 01:00:14,467
He said he was going to cut my cheeks.

1078
01:00:14,628 --> 01:00:17,029
and give me a Glasgow smile.

1079
01:00:19,383 --> 01:00:24,036
Kristina Khorram told him that...

1080
01:00:26,456 --> 01:00:30,626
Your clientele would prefer that I watch...

1081
01:00:32,570 --> 01:00:34,129
Normal.

1082
01:00:36,057 --> 01:00:38,891
At one point, Sean Combs...

1083
01:00:38,892 --> 01:00:41,419
He took a remote control from the television

1084
01:00:41,579 --> 01:00:43,821
and...

1085
01:00:43,822 --> 01:00:46,499
he raped me vaginally

1086
01:00:46,660 --> 01:00:51,229
with that object, violently.

1087
01:00:58,864 --> 01:01:00,262
- Then he says,

1088
01:01:00,263 --> 01:01:02,539
Diddy is sitting not far from the bed,

1089
01:01:02,540 --> 01:01:05,417
and she said he has his phone and his penis in his hand

1090
01:01:05,418 --> 01:01:08,846
and he is recording and masturbating

1091
01:01:08,847 --> 01:01:10,999
at the same time.

1092
01:01:11,159 --> 01:01:12,501
This is your perversion.

1093
01:01:12,661 --> 01:01:14,920
This is what turns him on.

1094
01:01:15,080 --> 01:01:16,204
They are like trophies.

1095
01:01:19,566 --> 01:01:22,935
-They said they could send me and sell me.

1096
01:01:22,936 --> 01:01:25,437
To anyone in the world

1097
01:01:25,438 --> 01:01:27,540
and that they would never see me again

1098
01:01:27,701 --> 01:01:30,442
for my parents or my loved ones.

1099
01:01:30,443 --> 01:01:32,688
And they took me that night.

1100
01:01:34,558 --> 01:01:39,201
He was sobbing uncontrollably.

1101
01:01:42,029 --> 01:01:45,158
He was in a catatonic state.

1102
01:01:45,318 --> 01:01:48,135
Once they started raping me,

1103
01:01:48,136 --> 01:01:52,565
And I was just trying...

1104
01:01:52,726 --> 01:01:57,245
to overcome it and be able to get out of there.

1105
01:01:57,405 --> 01:01:59,715
That's when they went out to smoke.

1106
01:02:01,585 --> 01:02:05,503
When I finally got the strength

1107
01:02:05,663 --> 01:02:08,230
To even sit,

1108
01:02:08,231 --> 01:02:09,731
I was missing my clothes.

1109
01:02:09,732 --> 01:02:13,511
My bag, my keys, my phone... everything was gone.

1110
01:02:17,240 --> 01:02:19,917
At that moment, I ran to the neighbor's house.

1111
01:02:22,180 --> 01:02:26,072
Later, the neighbor told me that he had called the police.

1112
01:02:26,073 --> 01:02:29,953
And that's when a sheriff appeared at the door.

1113
01:02:30,113 --> 01:02:34,431
This sheriff didn't offer me an ambulance.

1114
01:02:34,432 --> 01:02:39,037
He didn't offer me a ride to the police station.

1115
01:02:39,197 --> 01:02:43,840
He basically told me to find my own way home.

1116
01:02:43,841 --> 01:02:47,594
There is something very strange in his behavior.

1117
01:02:47,595 --> 01:02:50,298
- And the Contra Costa Sheriff's Department

1118
01:02:50,458 --> 01:02:52,625
published a statement and said:

1119
01:02:52,786 --> 01:02:55,202
Yes, she filed a police report that night.

1120
01:02:55,203 --> 01:02:57,729
We can confirm it

1121
01:02:57,730 --> 01:03:00,984
that a report was made on March 23, 2018,

1122
01:03:01,144 --> 01:03:03,711
but that "we take these matters seriously"

1123
01:03:03,712 --> 01:03:05,947
and it was investigated and it was unfounded.

1124
01:03:13,156 --> 01:03:17,250
- When I got home, I just...

1125
01:03:17,410 --> 01:03:20,185
I got into bed.

1126
01:03:20,186 --> 01:03:23,331
I was catatonic for about three days.

1127
01:03:23,491 --> 01:03:27,585
before I could get up and feed myself.

1128
01:03:27,745 --> 01:03:32,389
[in a broken voice] I have become incredibly lonely.

1129
01:03:32,390 --> 01:03:36,493
I don't trust anyone...

1130
01:03:36,494 --> 01:03:40,647
Apart from, for example, my parents.

1131
01:03:40,648 --> 01:03:43,751
So I was in isolation.

1132
01:03:43,752 --> 01:03:46,587
I've barely left the house.

1133
01:03:46,588 --> 01:03:49,357
I've been living in fear.

1134
01:03:49,517 --> 01:03:54,112
Because it's just a group of powerful people.

1135
01:03:54,272 --> 01:03:56,039
-They did it with intention.

1136
01:03:56,199 --> 01:03:59,666
I truly believe they intended to take her.

1137
01:03:59,667 --> 01:04:02,402
and was never seen again.

1138
01:04:02,403 --> 01:04:04,989
This is what you do when your ultimate goal is...

1139
01:04:05,150 --> 01:04:06,482
is trafficking them for sexual purposes.

1140
01:04:06,483 --> 01:04:08,508
They were trying to force her in.

1141
01:04:08,509 --> 01:04:10,303
Which is a term I'm familiar with.

1142
01:04:10,463 --> 01:04:12,264
to know the pimp culture.

1143
01:04:14,359 --> 01:04:17,534
When you want to bring a new prostitute or prostitute,

1144
01:04:17,535 --> 01:04:20,138
You have to tame it.

1145
01:04:20,298 --> 01:04:22,315
You usually get used to it.

1146
01:04:22,475 --> 01:04:25,117
Making her have sex in a gang bang,

1147
01:04:25,118 --> 01:04:27,320
with several men at the same time.

1148
01:04:27,480 --> 01:04:30,949
You have taken everything from him.

1149
01:04:31,109 --> 01:04:32,275
They broke it.

1150
01:04:48,718 --> 01:04:51,393
- Uncontrolled wealth and power are very dangerous.

1151
01:04:51,394 --> 01:04:52,894
in our culture.

1152
01:04:52,895 --> 01:04:56,389
It allows people to get away with horrible behavior.

1153
01:04:56,390 --> 01:04:58,483
- [screaming indistinctly]

1154
01:04:58,484 --> 01:05:00,335
- Throughout his career,

1155
01:05:00,336 --> 01:05:03,556
He was known for committing acts of violence himself...

1156
01:05:03,650 --> 01:05:05,683
-What is your prayer today?

1157
01:05:05,843 --> 01:05:07,560
- Threaten people with violence.

1158
01:05:07,720 --> 01:05:09,354
- Can you stop now? - Huh?

1159
01:05:09,514 --> 01:05:12,073
- He was known to be very vengeful.

1160
01:05:16,671 --> 01:05:18,595
- Fan favorite up here, of course.

1161
01:05:18,596 --> 01:05:20,698
He is the one and only Biggie Smalls.

1162
01:05:20,858 --> 01:05:23,225
I understand that your album will be released in July,

1163
01:05:23,226 --> 01:05:25,128
'Cause I was watching the Bad Boy team,

1164
01:05:25,288 --> 01:05:26,928
And Puff Daddy was letting everyone know:

1165
01:05:26,929 --> 01:05:29,806
-There have been rumors that Diddy

1166
01:05:29,807 --> 01:05:33,485
It could have had something to do with Biggie's death.

1167
01:05:33,486 --> 01:05:35,639
-This is a photo of me

1168
01:05:35,799 --> 01:05:38,866
the night BIG was murdered.

1169
01:05:38,867 --> 01:05:40,718
The week BIG was murdered,

1170
01:05:40,878 --> 01:05:42,870
He was just acting very anxious.

1171
01:05:42,871 --> 01:05:45,047
and trying to become BIG at this party.

1172
01:05:45,208 --> 01:05:46,474
And it was crazy,

1173
01:05:46,634 --> 01:05:49,877
Meanwhile BIG was telling people that he had to be in London.

1174
01:05:49,878 --> 01:05:53,130
But Puff told people he wouldn't go to London.

1175
01:05:53,131 --> 01:05:55,075
that whole week.

1176
01:05:57,320 --> 01:06:00,238
I'm sitting in the Beverly Hills Hotel,

1177
01:06:00,398 --> 01:06:02,139
and I receive a phone call.

1178
01:06:02,140 --> 01:06:03,917
It's approximately 9:00.

1179
01:06:04,077 --> 01:06:07,761
And they say: Gene, get ready, we're going to the "Vibe" party.

1180
01:06:07,762 --> 01:06:10,748
I was like, are we going to that party?

1181
01:06:10,908 --> 01:06:13,575
We don't even have security.

1182
01:06:13,576 --> 01:06:16,054
I say, hey, Puff, I got some info, bro.

1183
01:06:16,214 --> 01:06:17,479
He said, what?

1184
01:06:17,480 --> 01:06:19,507
I mean, man, if we go to that party tonight,

1185
01:06:19,667 --> 01:06:21,259
One of us is going to die.

1186
01:06:21,419 --> 01:06:22,835
someone is going to die,

1187
01:06:22,996 --> 01:06:26,488
because now we have confrontations between the East Coast and the West Coast.

1188
01:06:26,489 --> 01:06:29,741
He said, hey, Gene, I don't want to hear that shit.

1189
01:06:29,742 --> 01:06:31,743
I said, don't you want to hear that shit?

1190
01:06:31,744 --> 01:06:33,170
So we all got into the car.

1191
01:06:36,702 --> 01:06:38,851
-When Tupac was killed,

1192
01:06:39,012 --> 01:06:41,578
There were many rumors

1193
01:06:41,579 --> 01:06:44,124
that Biggie and Puffy were behind this.

1194
01:06:48,446 --> 01:06:51,188
- I was in a car with Puff. BIG was in his own car.

1195
01:06:54,952 --> 01:06:58,221
And the next thing you knew, you heard, pow, pow, pow, pow.

1196
01:06:58,381 --> 01:06:59,596
They're shooting BIG, bro!

1197
01:07:04,788 --> 01:07:06,304
We ran there because they say they are taking BIG

1198
01:07:06,464 --> 01:07:07,604
To the hospital.

1199
01:07:07,605 --> 01:07:09,731
I told them, whatever you do,

1200
01:07:09,732 --> 01:07:12,485
Don't let him go to sleep.

1201
01:07:12,645 --> 01:07:16,288
Talk to him. Keep him awake. Don't let him fall asleep.

1202
01:07:16,289 --> 01:07:18,316
keep him talking

1203
01:07:18,476 --> 01:07:21,618
And Kenny said, BIG, I'm going to take you to the hospital.

1204
01:07:21,619 --> 01:07:24,871
And BIG said, just do it.

1205
01:07:24,872 --> 01:07:28,608
That was the last thing I heard BIG say.

1206
01:07:28,609 --> 01:07:31,755
And they said the hospital was two blocks away,

1207
01:07:31,915 --> 01:07:34,332
and those are the two longest blocks

1208
01:07:34,492 --> 01:07:36,233
That I have never seen in my life.

1209
01:07:40,813 --> 01:07:42,739
Then Puff ran out the hospital door,

1210
01:07:42,740 --> 01:07:44,342
and grabbed my arm.

1211
01:07:44,502 --> 01:07:46,827
He said, Gene, we need to pray!

1212
01:07:46,828 --> 01:07:49,571
We have to pray! We have to pray!

1213
01:07:49,572 --> 01:07:51,649
And I took my hands off him.

1214
01:07:51,810 --> 01:07:53,500
I said, pray for what?

1215
01:07:53,501 --> 01:07:55,603
That black is dead, brother.

1216
01:07:55,763 --> 01:07:58,606
He was simply stunned.

1217
01:07:58,766 --> 01:08:00,683
Like he had that look in his eyes,

1218
01:08:00,844 --> 01:08:03,119
As if I couldn't believe it,

1219
01:08:03,279 --> 01:08:05,246
that he was dead.

1220
01:08:06,792 --> 01:08:08,500
He couldn't believe it.

1221
01:08:31,857 --> 01:08:34,607
- Feelings cannot change facts,

1222
01:08:34,608 --> 01:08:36,611
But facts can change feelings.

1223
01:08:38,539 --> 01:08:42,165
I think it put BIG in the atmosphere.

1224
01:08:42,166 --> 01:08:46,246
So did he have anything directly to do with it?

1225
01:08:48,558 --> 01:08:49,749
He could have done it.

1226
01:08:58,668 --> 01:09:00,835
For many years,

1227
01:09:00,995 --> 01:09:05,113
I couldn't hold back the tears...

1228
01:09:05,114 --> 01:09:07,892
knowing that that young man was murdered.

1229
01:09:12,073 --> 01:09:14,849
- I stopped working with him at the beginning of 2005,

1230
01:09:15,009 --> 01:09:17,417
Because his mom and I got into this.

1231
01:09:17,418 --> 01:09:18,794
- Janice, come here, please.

1232
01:09:18,795 --> 01:09:21,355
- Hello, Janice. - Janice, right here.

1233
01:09:21,515 --> 01:09:24,474
-My goodness he tried to degrade me.

1234
01:09:24,475 --> 01:09:28,437
She would ask me to do things for her, like go to her car,

1235
01:09:28,598 --> 01:09:30,413
Understand this, understand that.

1236
01:09:30,414 --> 01:09:33,091
And I wouldn't do that.

1237
01:09:33,092 --> 01:09:35,119
What the fuck are you asking me to stop?

1238
01:09:35,279 --> 01:09:38,339
From ensuring your child's safety to going to do something for yourself?

1239
01:09:40,210 --> 01:09:42,552
So one day, I was sitting in Puff's office.

1240
01:09:42,712 --> 01:09:45,428
And she said, Gene, I need you to go to my car.

1241
01:09:45,429 --> 01:09:46,530
and take out this food.

1242
01:09:46,531 --> 01:09:48,057
I said I'm not here for that.

1243
01:09:48,218 --> 01:09:51,109
And then she started rambling, started saying,

1244
01:09:51,110 --> 01:09:55,363
Hello, everyone does what I ask them to do...

1245
01:09:55,364 --> 01:09:56,891
except you.

1246
01:09:57,051 --> 01:09:58,818
What makes you so special?

1247
01:09:58,978 --> 01:10:00,570
And then Puff left his office.

1248
01:10:00,730 --> 01:10:02,620
Why do you always pick on Gene?

1249
01:10:02,621 --> 01:10:05,399
Leave Gene alone.

1250
01:10:05,559 --> 01:10:08,077
She was just watching.

1251
01:10:08,238 --> 01:10:11,906
And then she said, I, I, I'm tired of this, man.

1252
01:10:12,066 --> 01:10:14,659
And I said, I'm tired of this too.

1253
01:10:14,819 --> 01:10:16,661
And I left and never came back.

1254
01:10:22,252 --> 01:10:24,219
-I wanted to show you something.

1255
01:10:25,730 --> 01:10:27,680
This is another bathroom.

1256
01:10:30,026 --> 01:10:33,827
Can you tell me what the plus is?

1257
01:10:33,828 --> 01:10:35,712
- No. - The plus.

1258
01:10:41,610 --> 01:10:42,687
Oh.

1259
01:10:46,609 --> 01:10:48,050
That's the advantage.

1260
01:10:48,051 --> 01:10:49,718
In the back of my house,

1261
01:10:49,719 --> 01:10:51,696
That's where I keep my trophies.

1262
01:10:51,856 --> 01:10:54,198
That's where I keep my platinum and gold plates.

1263
01:10:54,358 --> 01:10:57,026
I would probably say minimum 10, maximum 15.

1264
01:10:57,187 --> 01:10:59,627
This was my first platinum badge.

1265
01:10:59,628 --> 01:11:02,731
Notorious BIG

1266
01:11:02,732 --> 01:11:05,183
I was co-executive producer on that album.

1267
01:11:05,184 --> 01:11:08,436
I got it when I was 23, I think.

1268
01:11:08,437 --> 01:11:09,264
Yes.

1269
01:11:17,056 --> 01:11:20,049
- After seeing some friends die,

1270
01:11:20,210 --> 01:11:22,735
You wake up one day and find yourself shot in the head.

1271
01:11:24,388 --> 01:11:29,207
Then you go, and then you have another raw talent,

1272
01:11:29,208 --> 01:11:31,986
This fat boy from Brooklyn, you know,

1273
01:11:32,146 --> 01:11:35,639
and they shoot him to death...

1274
01:11:35,640 --> 01:11:37,966
He's not even 25 years old.

1275
01:11:37,967 --> 01:11:41,070
And in my case,

1276
01:11:41,231 --> 01:11:43,822
After having had extortion attempts against me,

1277
01:11:43,983 --> 01:11:46,000
taking out weapons,

1278
01:11:46,160 --> 01:11:48,977
having to deal with so much death...

1279
01:11:48,978 --> 01:11:50,153
[dog whines]

1280
01:11:50,154 --> 01:11:52,805
Yeah, it wasn't cool anymore.

1281
01:11:52,806 --> 01:11:54,759
You talk about fight or flight.

1282
01:11:54,919 --> 01:11:56,585
Take flight.

1283
01:12:09,433 --> 01:12:13,326
-There was one thing we used to do when we were kids,

1284
01:12:13,327 --> 01:12:16,329
And they were called midnight snacks, right?

1285
01:12:16,330 --> 01:12:19,208
And the midnight snacks were usually Pop-Tarts,

1286
01:12:19,369 --> 01:12:23,037
strawberry flavor, no glaze, extra butter,

1287
01:12:23,197 --> 01:12:25,647
coming straight out of the toaster, hot as fire,

1288
01:12:25,648 --> 01:12:28,867
with a tall glass of milk with ice.

1289
01:12:29,028 --> 01:12:32,880
So I sent him Pop-Tarts periodically over the years,

1290
01:12:32,974 --> 01:12:34,914
as a birthday gift,

1291
01:12:34,915 --> 01:12:37,058
to his office, wherever he was.

1292
01:12:37,059 --> 01:12:38,709
But he never responded.

1293
01:12:41,030 --> 01:12:43,132
When I decided to leave the industry...

1294
01:12:43,293 --> 01:12:46,560
And this was around 99...

1295
01:12:46,720 --> 01:12:49,739
That's when we communicated less,

1296
01:12:49,899 --> 01:12:53,242
We saw less of each other, because I took the fork in the road.

1297
01:12:53,403 --> 01:12:56,579
And now this is what it turned out to be.

1298
01:13:04,305 --> 01:13:07,481
-My last meeting with Kimberly--

1299
01:13:07,482 --> 01:13:11,059
We were at the premiere of the Quincy Christmas special.

1300
01:13:11,060 --> 01:13:13,162
"Vacation calendar."

1301
01:13:13,323 --> 01:13:15,313
Sean came.

1302
01:13:18,453 --> 01:13:21,027
She told me: this is probably the best day.

1303
01:13:21,028 --> 01:13:23,106
in a long time,

1304
01:13:23,266 --> 01:13:26,851
seeing us all in the same place.

1305
01:13:27,011 --> 01:13:28,277
She looked amazing.

1306
01:13:28,438 --> 01:13:30,279
She was healthy. She was fantastic.

1307
01:13:30,440 --> 01:13:32,990
It was two or three weeks before, uh...

1308
01:13:34,910 --> 01:13:36,685
His...

1309
01:13:36,846 --> 01:13:38,788
murder.

1310
01:13:38,948 --> 01:13:41,040
Am I supposed to say "supposedly"?

1311
01:13:43,168 --> 01:13:47,004
November 15, a day I will never forget...

1312
01:13:48,266 --> 01:13:51,173
I was on my way to film

1313
01:13:51,174 --> 01:13:54,427
the opening packages of the BET Awards.

1314
01:13:54,428 --> 01:13:57,930
The phone rings and it's a dear friend of mine.

1315
01:13:57,931 --> 01:13:59,783
AND...

1316
01:13:59,784 --> 01:14:02,895
She says, Have you heard about Kimberly?

1317
01:14:04,365 --> 01:14:05,964
And I said what about Kimberly?

1318
01:14:06,125 --> 01:14:07,865
I just saw it.

1319
01:14:07,866 --> 01:14:10,895
She says, I don't know,

1320
01:14:11,055 --> 01:14:14,697
but I heard that Kimberly has died.

1321
01:14:25,086 --> 01:14:28,987
- [with a broken voice] Then you're going to have my baby...

1322
01:14:29,148 --> 01:14:31,990
and it means a lot to me.

1323
01:14:32,151 --> 01:14:34,892
There is nothing more precious

1324
01:14:34,893 --> 01:14:37,671
than raising a family.

1325
01:14:37,831 --> 01:14:40,657
If you have any doubt in your mind,

1326
01:14:40,658 --> 01:14:42,718
You can count on me.

1327
01:14:45,264 --> 01:14:47,488
And that's just one day

1328
01:14:47,489 --> 01:14:51,068
That will never, ever leave my mind...

1329
01:14:53,414 --> 01:14:56,664
And just that feeling of emptiness, like...

1330
01:14:56,665 --> 01:14:58,466
Now...

1331
01:14:58,467 --> 01:15:02,497
Something's not right with this.

1332
01:15:04,918 --> 01:15:07,877
- Kim Porter was found dead in her home,

1333
01:15:08,037 --> 01:15:11,956
and an autopsy showed that it was due to complications

1334
01:15:12,116 --> 01:15:14,182
of pneumonia.

1335
01:15:14,183 --> 01:15:16,719
She was young, 47 years old.

1336
01:15:16,879 --> 01:15:19,437
-Who is dying of pneumonia?

1337
01:15:19,438 --> 01:15:23,015
Seriously, pneumonia and dying so quickly?

1338
01:15:23,016 --> 01:15:26,044
For example, every day people get pneumonia and don't die.

1339
01:15:26,205 --> 01:15:28,272
That doesn't seem like a natural cause.

1340
01:15:36,215 --> 01:15:37,556
-Kim's death is a

1341
01:15:37,717 --> 01:15:39,382
Of those moments that leave you speechless,

1342
01:15:39,383 --> 01:15:41,536
Especially if you know her.

1343
01:15:44,415 --> 01:15:48,290
And the part that is so complicated for me is,

1344
01:15:48,291 --> 01:15:50,169
I don't think I want to know right now.

1345
01:15:50,329 --> 01:15:53,322
Because there are so many different images

1346
01:15:53,483 --> 01:15:55,299
that have been put on my mind.

1347
01:16:00,431 --> 01:16:03,156
-This story has become interesting

1348
01:16:03,157 --> 01:16:06,984
on several continents.

1349
01:16:06,985 --> 01:16:10,129
For the record, I have received over 40 inquiries.

1350
01:16:10,130 --> 01:16:12,415
of production companies, chains,

1351
01:16:12,416 --> 01:16:16,378
Since Brother Sean's imprisonment, participating

1352
01:16:16,379 --> 01:16:20,173
in everyone's documentary or something like that.

1353
01:16:20,174 --> 01:16:21,600
I'm going to keep a dollar with you.

1354
01:16:21,761 --> 01:16:23,277
I'm even surprised to be sitting here right now.

1355
01:16:23,437 --> 01:16:25,002
having this conversation

1356
01:16:25,003 --> 01:16:28,457
But I think I at least owe it to Kimberly.

1357
01:16:28,618 --> 01:16:31,335
to share just a small portion of your truth.

1358
01:16:35,499 --> 01:16:38,340
After Sean starts seeing Kimberly,

1359
01:16:38,341 --> 01:16:40,219
Kimberly and I are still friends.

1360
01:16:40,379 --> 01:16:44,122
She started to trust me.

1361
01:16:44,283 --> 01:16:47,301
What she said is: look, something's not right.

1362
01:16:47,461 --> 01:16:49,395
His soul has become completely dark,

1363
01:16:49,555 --> 01:16:52,815
As if it weren't there.

1364
01:16:52,975 --> 01:16:54,850
Yes.

1365
01:16:55,010 --> 01:16:56,209
Yes, yes.

1366
01:16:56,210 --> 01:16:58,211
She made me promise

1367
01:16:58,212 --> 01:17:01,890
About the life of our son Quincy Taylor Brown

1368
01:17:02,051 --> 01:17:03,616
Never reveal

1369
01:17:03,617 --> 01:17:07,204
Because I was completely afraid for my life.

1370
01:17:09,058 --> 01:17:12,550
What I know and what I can share at this stage

1371
01:17:12,551 --> 01:17:15,153
Is it that before his death,

1372
01:17:15,314 --> 01:17:18,007
She kept a diary and things of that nature.

1373
01:17:18,167 --> 01:17:21,910
Someone got the access code to his phone and computer.

1374
01:17:22,071 --> 01:17:24,413
And they discovered that she was writing

1375
01:17:24,574 --> 01:17:27,091
What was happening behind closed doors.

1376
01:17:27,251 --> 01:17:28,509
The public had no idea.

1377
01:17:28,669 --> 01:17:30,643
It was happening in front of everyone's eyes.

1378
01:17:30,644 --> 01:17:33,064
But there are many people who turned a blind eye.

1379
01:17:39,012 --> 01:17:42,180
-There was a lot of talk, there were many rumors.

1380
01:17:42,341 --> 01:17:43,357
that Diddy could have had

1381
01:17:43,517 --> 01:17:45,434
something to do with Kim's death.

1382
01:17:45,595 --> 01:17:47,385
There are people who have said:

1383
01:17:47,386 --> 01:17:49,587
Well she knew too much about him,

1384
01:17:49,588 --> 01:17:51,664
and was about to reveal everything.

1385
01:17:51,665 --> 01:17:54,225
Absolutely no proof, no evidence,

1386
01:17:54,226 --> 01:17:56,420
None of that.

1387
01:17:56,580 --> 01:17:58,921
You know, there are a lot of conspiracy theories out there.

1388
01:17:58,922 --> 01:18:00,374
but there is no proof.

1389
01:18:00,534 --> 01:18:04,679
And the autopsy report showed that it was pneumonia.

1390
01:18:14,439 --> 01:18:19,191
- Let's say there are a lot of things happening in the industry,

1391
01:18:19,192 --> 01:18:21,369
that it is not my job to discover,

1392
01:18:21,370 --> 01:18:25,197
But it's something that's been happening in the industry,

1393
01:18:25,198 --> 01:18:29,078
And those who talk about it usually end up dying.

1394
01:18:29,238 --> 01:18:33,407
- Uptown Records started with five people--

1395
01:18:33,567 --> 01:18:37,143
Andre Harrell, Al B. Sure!, Heavy D,

1396
01:18:37,144 --> 01:18:38,954
and Puffy.

1397
01:18:39,114 --> 01:18:42,717
And Kim was the longest-working employee.

1398
01:18:45,404 --> 01:18:47,645
Heavy D was found dead, heart attack.

1399
01:18:47,646 --> 01:18:49,974
Andre Harrell, heart attack.

1400
01:18:52,728 --> 01:18:54,603
-This person was telling the story.

1401
01:18:54,764 --> 01:18:56,654
This person was writing a book.

1402
01:18:56,655 --> 01:18:59,108
This person is about to tell the truth.

1403
01:18:59,268 --> 01:19:03,195
Why is everyone dead?

1404
01:19:04,990 --> 01:19:07,239
Oh, it's a coincidence.

1405
01:19:07,240 --> 01:19:08,993
Get the hell out of here!

1406
01:19:09,153 --> 01:19:12,645
- The only two left are Puffy and Al,

1407
01:19:12,646 --> 01:19:15,723
and Al almost died.

1408
01:19:15,724 --> 01:19:18,827
- And you will really understand how I ended up in a coma.

1409
01:19:35,872 --> 01:19:39,289
- July 12 was a very interesting day.

1410
01:19:39,290 --> 01:19:41,025
That was the day I fell.

1411
01:19:44,781 --> 01:19:47,406
It's not the first, second or third time...

1412
01:19:49,451 --> 01:19:51,476
I've been in that position,

1413
01:19:51,637 --> 01:19:53,127
where I really fell.

1414
01:19:53,128 --> 01:19:55,080
I can't say much right now.

1415
01:19:57,493 --> 01:19:59,409
I can say this.

1416
01:19:59,570 --> 01:20:02,463
On July 12, I was admitted to one of the hospitals here.

1417
01:20:07,594 --> 01:20:09,076
It was basically finished.

1418
01:20:09,077 --> 01:20:11,004
They were sending me to hospice.

1419
01:20:11,164 --> 01:20:13,573
There was nothing else they could do.

1420
01:20:13,574 --> 01:20:15,399
So they're going to send him to die.

1421
01:20:15,400 --> 01:20:18,253

01:28:54,896 --> 01:28:56,804
- You know, it broke my heart, you know?

1599
01:28:56,805 --> 01:28:59,098
And then I have to ask myself too,

1600
01:28:59,099 --> 01:29:01,275
What was going through his head?

1601
01:29:01,437 --> 01:29:03,844
Why is he really angry?

1602
01:29:03,845 --> 01:29:06,915
- And maybe he made her angry, or she made him angry.

1603
01:29:07,075 --> 01:29:09,593
The question is what caused that?

1604
01:29:13,139 --> 01:29:14,888
- No, it's not.

1605
01:29:17,260 --> 01:29:18,968
-Everyone was shocked.

1606
01:29:19,129 --> 01:29:22,872
But his statement later

1607
01:29:22,873 --> 01:29:25,299
made it worse...

1608
01:29:25,461 --> 01:29:29,170
-My behavior in that video is inexcusable.

1609
01:29:29,171 --> 01:29:31,705
I take full responsibility.

1610
01:29:31,706 --> 01:29:33,907
- Because...

1611
01:29:33,908 --> 01:29:38,061
I don't think we heard him apologize to her.

1612
01:29:38,062 --> 01:29:40,448
-I'm not asking for your forgiveness.

1613
01:29:45,230 --> 01:29:48,322
- At the end of 2024,

1614
01:29:48,484 --> 01:29:52,752
There has been an absolute avalanche of lawsuits.

1615
01:29:52,912 --> 01:29:56,256
There have been women who have taken a step forward

1616
01:29:56,416 --> 01:29:58,908
and accused him of sexual assault...

1617
01:29:58,909 --> 01:30:00,602
-We need to talk about this woman.

1618
01:30:00,762 --> 01:30:03,021
and what he said about his experience with Diddy.

1619
01:30:03,181 --> 01:30:05,014
- Men who have come forward and accused him.

1620
01:30:05,175 --> 01:30:06,215
of sexual assault.

1621
01:30:06,376 --> 01:30:08,268
-The third person has come out

1622
01:30:08,428 --> 01:30:10,845
with a lawsuit against Diddy in the last month.

1623
01:30:11,006 --> 01:30:13,446
- She had supposedly discovered some of the tapes.

1624
01:30:13,447 --> 01:30:15,158
that she had done with male pop stars.

1625
01:30:15,460 --> 01:30:17,450
- Are you all ready to watch hip-hop?

1626
01:30:17,451 --> 01:30:21,030
- There are already more than 30 of us, I think.

1627
01:30:21,191 --> 01:30:22,681
who have filed lawsuits.

1628
01:30:22,682 --> 01:30:24,332
[people crying]

1629
01:30:24,333 --> 01:30:26,084
- I wish you all the best of luck.

1630
01:30:28,337 --> 01:30:32,824
- I have a client. Her name is Courtney Burgess.

1631
01:30:32,825 --> 01:30:34,252
Courtney came to me

1632
01:30:34,346 --> 01:30:36,847
because he had received a summons

1633
01:30:37,007 --> 01:30:38,405
of the federal government

1634
01:30:38,406 --> 01:30:41,301
to testify in connection with the grand jury

1635
01:30:41,461 --> 01:30:44,278
that has been gathered about Diddy.

1636
01:30:44,279 --> 01:30:47,406
Courtney has done interviews in which she stated:

1637
01:30:47,407 --> 01:30:49,959
have multiple flash drives

1638
01:30:49,960 --> 01:30:51,987
which included sex tapes

1639
01:30:52,147 --> 01:30:53,888
with eight different individuals,

1640
01:30:54,049 --> 01:30:56,715
including A-list celebrities and Diddy,

1641
01:30:56,716 --> 01:30:58,702
All involved in sex.

1642
01:31:00,480 --> 01:31:04,098
He believes these people were intoxicated.

1643
01:31:04,099 --> 01:31:05,900
and maybe they didn't know

1644
01:31:06,061 --> 01:31:07,401
that were being recorded.

1645
01:31:07,563 --> 01:31:11,548
And Courtney finally delivered the video.

1646
01:31:14,761 --> 01:31:17,369
It is not necessarily a quid pro quo,

1647
01:31:17,370 --> 01:31:20,489
where, oh, I'm going to blackmail you.

1648
01:31:20,490 --> 01:31:23,742
I feel like it was more to promote his influence.

1649
01:31:23,743 --> 01:31:25,169
and its power,

1650
01:31:25,330 --> 01:31:27,496
because now I have them on video,

1651
01:31:27,497 --> 01:31:29,898
Where can I say, I'm going to take this to your wife.

1652
01:31:29,899 --> 01:31:32,352
I'll take this to your husband. I will take this to the public.

1653
01:31:32,512 --> 01:31:35,238
And I will ruin you if you don't do this for me.

1654
01:31:43,898 --> 01:31:47,916
- I represented 11 victims of Jeffrey Epstein.

1655
01:31:47,917 --> 01:31:50,119
Jeffrey Epstein was one of the most prolific predators

1656
01:31:50,280 --> 01:31:51,845
that we have ever seen.

1657
01:31:51,846 --> 01:31:55,490
He had, I believe, thousands of victims.

1658
01:31:55,491 --> 01:31:59,453
Up to three girls a day were operated on for years.

1659
01:31:59,615 --> 01:32:02,057
The recruiters were bringing it to him.

1660
01:32:02,217 --> 01:32:04,033
who found attractive young women,

1661
01:32:04,034 --> 01:32:05,936
Many of them minors,

1662
01:32:06,096 --> 01:32:08,838
I brought them to you for a couple hundred dollars.

1663
01:32:08,999 --> 01:32:11,307
They were sexually assaulted.

1664
01:32:11,467 --> 01:32:13,367
There are many similarities

1665
01:32:13,368 --> 01:32:16,295
between the case of Jeffrey Epstein and Sean Combs.

1666
01:32:16,296 --> 01:32:19,956
They are both very, very rich men.

1667
01:32:19,957 --> 01:32:22,777
And each of them is at the top of the pyramid.

1668
01:32:22,871 --> 01:32:26,805
And if there comes a time when he is truly condemned,

1669
01:32:26,806 --> 01:32:28,333
We'll see if the same thing happens to Combs.

1670
01:32:28,493 --> 01:32:31,193
- Come back for me once, up up, up up.

1671
01:32:31,355 --> 01:32:33,797
- If you come from a context,

1672
01:32:33,957 --> 01:32:36,464
Let's say dad got involved in criminal activity.

1673
01:32:36,465 --> 01:32:39,493
and was born with many life challenges,

1674
01:32:39,655 --> 01:32:41,820
and then you are in an environment

1675
01:32:41,821 --> 01:32:46,250
Being around gang members, of course, that can shape you.

1676
01:32:46,411 --> 01:32:47,752
But on the other hand,

1677
01:32:47,913 --> 01:32:50,179
You have people who come from very difficult backgrounds.

1678
01:32:50,340 --> 01:32:53,231
who get into positive environments,

1679
01:32:53,232 --> 01:32:55,292
and they are fine.

1680
01:32:55,293 --> 01:32:58,512
Regardless of the trauma you have,

1681
01:32:58,674 --> 01:33:01,164
We still have to hold people accountable.

1682
01:33:03,653 --> 01:33:06,020
- The story of Lucifer in the Bible

1683
01:33:06,181 --> 01:33:09,247
Lucifer was the most beautiful angel of God.

1684
01:33:09,248 --> 01:33:11,308
And he was the angel of music.

1685
01:33:11,309 --> 01:33:13,143
- I'm letting all you blacks know,

1686
01:33:13,144 --> 01:33:14,961
If I'm not good, neither are you.

1687
01:33:14,962 --> 01:33:16,748
- But Lucifer became too full of himself.

1688
01:33:18,933 --> 01:33:22,361
And God expelled him from heaven.

1689
01:33:22,362 --> 01:33:26,264
And then he became the evil Satan.

1690
01:33:26,265 --> 01:33:29,811
What we know here on this Earth.

1691
01:33:29,971 --> 01:33:33,064
Like when we talk about the snake...

1692
01:33:33,224 --> 01:33:34,948
and when the devil comes and says:

1693
01:33:34,949 --> 01:33:36,776
I'll give you all this if you just denounce God,

1694
01:33:36,936 --> 01:33:39,962
They are all simply incarnations of Lucifer.

1695
01:33:39,963 --> 01:33:43,114
And I think where we are now is that we are seeing an incarnation.

1696
01:33:43,115 --> 01:33:45,693
of Lucifer in Sean Combs.

1697
01:33:53,170 --> 01:33:55,543
- Ha!

1698
01:34:00,159 --> 01:34:02,502
- Listen...

1699
01:34:02,662 --> 01:34:05,680
I've been talking about this since '97.

1700
01:34:08,744 --> 01:34:12,235
So it's not something I'm doing now.

1701
01:34:12,236 --> 01:34:14,288
I've been having a target on my back.

1702
01:34:14,289 --> 01:34:17,842
It doesn't mean anything to me. This life is not mine.

1703
01:34:18,003 --> 01:34:19,918
This life belongs to God.

1704
01:34:19,919 --> 01:34:23,097
And I'm going to do what He says please.

1705
01:34:29,262 --> 01:34:32,832
-These are my children, right?

1706
01:34:32,992 --> 01:34:35,034
That's Timmy, Jr.

1707
01:34:35,194 --> 01:34:37,260
Timmy was my hero.

1708
01:34:42,091 --> 01:34:44,219
Oh man.

1709
01:34:44,379 --> 01:34:47,621
You know, this is us burying my father.

1710
01:34:47,783 --> 01:34:51,300
And then, you know, maybe like three or four years later,

1711
01:34:51,461 --> 01:34:53,269
We had to bury Timmy.

1712
01:34:55,214 --> 01:34:57,774
Yes, Timmy Jr.

1713
01:35:02,539 --> 01:35:04,948
He overdosed on fentanyl.

1714
01:35:07,368 --> 01:35:11,395
When you have a child named after you...

1715
01:35:11,556 --> 01:35:13,998
[broken voice] He looks like you, he acts like you...

1716
01:35:14,159 --> 01:35:16,251
I lost a lot.

1717
01:35:18,978 --> 01:35:21,304
I lost my dad.

1718
01:35:21,305 --> 01:35:24,759
And then we buried Timmy.

1719
01:35:29,248 --> 01:35:31,340
So now we are here...

1720
01:35:31,501 --> 01:35:33,567
Speaking of Sean.

1721
01:35:35,995 --> 01:35:38,997
I lost three...

1722
01:35:38,998 --> 01:35:42,150
I lost three of my...

1723
01:35:44,579 --> 01:35:48,006
Yes, he left.

1724
01:35:48,007 --> 01:35:50,034
Hoping someone returns.

1725
01:35:53,198 --> 01:35:55,413
That's my little brother.

1726
01:35:55,414 --> 01:35:58,291
Sean has done some bad things.

1727
01:35:58,292 --> 01:36:00,295
Sean knows it.

1728
01:36:00,455 --> 01:36:02,345
I'm afraid for him.

1729
01:36:13,718 --> 01:36:15,960
- To be honest, I wouldn't know what to tell you.

1730
01:36:16,121 --> 01:36:17,395
I really wouldn't do it.

1731
01:36:22,792 --> 01:36:25,693
I really wouldn't know what to say.

1732
01:36:27,947 --> 01:36:30,224
-Diddy...

1733
01:36:30,385 --> 01:36:33,552
Did someone bring you cheesecake?

1734
01:36:33,553 --> 01:36:37,205
- If you are going to be who you are,

1735
01:36:37,206 --> 01:36:39,233
Be that person.

1736
01:36:39,394 --> 01:36:41,560
Don't turn around and try to play.

1737
01:36:41,561 --> 01:36:44,339
Mr. Good and Mr. Good

1738
01:36:44,499 --> 01:36:46,565
When you're a piece of shit all the time.

1739
01:36:46,566 --> 01:36:50,345
- Whether you are innocent or guilty...

1740
01:36:50,505 --> 01:36:53,205
Karma has resurfaced.

1741
01:36:56,642 --> 01:37:00,480
- This is a man who has been on top of the world.

1742
01:37:00,640 --> 01:37:03,832
This is a person who has lived the life.

1743
01:37:03,833 --> 01:37:07,360
Since I was 20 years old.

1744
01:37:09,524 --> 01:37:11,616
And suddenly,

1745
01:37:11,776 --> 01:37:14,684
Everything is taken away from him.

1746
01:37:14,685 --> 01:37:17,604
He's just trapped in this square box.

1747
01:37:20,675 --> 01:37:22,676
What do you say to him?

1748
01:37:25,941 --> 01:37:28,708
- This is probably the most powerful person.

1749
01:37:28,868 --> 01:37:31,285
in the music industry and one

1750
01:37:31,446 --> 01:37:33,353
of the most powerful people

1751
01:37:33,354 --> 01:37:35,471
In American culture, period.

1752
01:37:35,472 --> 01:37:38,718
So this case is huge.

1753
01:37:38,878 --> 01:37:41,119
- And this could mean a lot of time in prison.

1754
01:37:41,120 --> 01:37:42,897
If found guilty.

1755
01:37:45,393 --> 01:37:48,126
-Deep down I knew that this day would come.

1756
01:37:48,127 --> 01:37:50,504
Isn't that crazy?

1757
01:37:50,505 --> 01:37:53,700
That I would be sitting here with you.

1758
01:37:53,860 --> 01:37:55,785
You just say to yourself, wow.

1759
01:37:55,945 --> 01:37:57,486
You're going to have to tell people.

1760
01:37:57,647 --> 01:38:00,331
This was a good kid at one time.

1761
01:38:02,160 --> 01:38:04,193
Now he is turned into a monster.

1762
01:38:06,656 --> 01:38:10,133
But the monster was not born a monster.

1763
01:38:11,802 --> 01:38:14,429
How, how. Like.

1764
01:38:14,589 --> 01:38:16,973
Monsters are created over time.
